Assalamualaikum, my dear readers,
I hope this post finds you all in the best of health and wellbeing. This post marks the completion of the 12ty roza.
First of all, alhamdulillah that this roza ended peacefully and quietly.
This day was madness but for you to get a gost of it, let’s journey back a little.
My dad has a little asthma problem and has been coughing a lot lately. My younger sister has been diagnosed with bronchitis or something, so she is also taking medicines. and my mum is always on some blood thinning medication (I can’t remember medical jargons. If I could, I would have studied medicine). so, that’s the background. Let’s move on.
My brother got flu on Saturday. His daughter got fever on Sunday. His wife felt unwell Monday morning.
گھر کا گھر پڑ گیا بیمار، خدا خیر کرے۔۔۔
I kept up through the night yesterday because I didn’t want to be late for Sehri. Around 3:30, I got up, did ablution and offered tahajjud. After that, I thought of doing some recitation before starting sehri preparation. That’s when I saw a millipede in my room. It freaked me beyond imagination. All these crawly things are my worst nightmares. There was nobody to help me at that odd hour so I braved the act of killing the insect.
Or so I thought.
After repeated attacks with a broomstick, the insect was still. I went to my room to pick up my water bottle so I can seek shelter in the kitchen. When I stepped out, the millipede was gone.
Oh, the horror!
And then fifteen minutes later, when I tried to wake up Kom for sehri, I found her shivering-fever and body ache. After Fajr prayers, my older sister also got the chills and fever.
And that leaves me, the insomniac with a crazy workload the head of the house for one day.
I can’t even begin to tell you how hectic this day was. I couldn’t even find time to pray peacefully. With Allah’s grace, i managed to reach my target for tilawat but it had been difficult, so difficult. As for office work, I sat down once I got time, 12:30 am onwards and worked for about 70 minutes before my back refused to support me anymore.
Oh, and now every time I enter my room, I keep looking around if the centipede is back. This is going to keep me awake for a few nights.
Anywho, with everyone under the weather, I must stay awake till sehri and Fajr is done.
Allah give me the strength and bless us all with good health and strong imaan. Ameen.
How was your day?
