Why did I pick this book as wildcard entry for August TBR?
The reasons are multi-fold.
- Travelling to Pune
- didn’t want to rely on epubs only
- couldn’t pack what I wanted because those would be bulky and heavy, short on space, don’t want to increase the kgs on my shoulder
- didn’t want a book that reads fast, because that’d mean I need 30 books for 30 days, right?
- This one is slow, I know, so I packed this. I already know I’m at a disadvantage because most of these stories are expected to retellings of fairytales and legendary stories. I’m not familiar with those.

This book was first published when I wasn’t born, my older sister wasn’t born.
Here’s the problem: this books is considered a master piece because of the retellings of fairytales. I don’t know those fairytales, so I couldn’t really relate the current story to the original, couldn’t compare if-and-how the subversions are done. I need to read more.
