Neem Episode 1 Written Update and Review
The first episode of Neem does a fine job of introducing us the characters, most of which you can read here: Neem | Cast and Characters
What I liked the mosti is the array of diverse characters. Zimal who wants to do good for the society, Karamat who is all things pure evil, Arshad who likes Zimal but could never even talk to her, and others. I posted about my first impression here: Neem | Teaser Review and First Impression
While most of that is true, I must take a moment to appraise Mawra and her performance. More than that, I want to talk about her choices of late.
There was Sabaat, and then there was Qissa Mehrbano Ka, and now Neem; Mawra is choosing projects that show her as a woman of strength, something we all should look up to. She isn’t the woman of steel, no no. She portrays woman who are vulnerable, and yet strong. Also, her voice, her body language, her dialogue delivery is so poised and on point. I still can’t shake the image from my mind as Zimal was slowly walking through the greenery. It seemed as if she belonged there. And that’s the mark of a true actor. Kudos, sis!
That’s my take on first episode of Neem. How did others feel about it?
