Aasmanon Pe Likha

Aasmanon Pay Likha (Urdu: آسمانوں پہ لکھا) (meaning Written on the Skies) is a 2013 TV show that aired on Geo Entertainment television. It stars Sajal Ali and Sheheryar Munawar in lead roles.

Qudsia (Sajal Ali) is a middle-class girl who dreams of a simple married life. Unfortunately, her in-laws demand a hefty sum of dowry. Qudsia’s family were not able to pay the dowry. Her father eventually has a heart attack after getting insulted. Aaliyan (Sheheryar Munawar), who has come to attend his employee’s daughter’s wedding, ends up marrying Qudsia.

Qudsiya’s Family

Afiya is too bitter, especially to Qudsiya. At times, I feel sorry for Qudsiya, but most of the time, Afiya’s bitterness in on-point and rarely mis-directed. I like her character.

Aliyan’s Family

Aliyan and grandma is talking about Aliyan’s mistake that is Qudsiya.

Aliyan: This is the last time I’m doing something so immature, I promise.
Grandma: Tumhara har promise akhri hota hai aur har gadbad pehli.

I so love this line.

The Rich Meets the Poor

Grandma meets Qudsiya’s family. It was a painful conversation as she doesn’t hide the intentions of her family. I couldn’t watch the scene. While talking, Zaheer’s physical condition deteriorates. Grandma takes Zaheer to the hospital.

Long story short, grandma can’t do this evil thing to Zaheer, so she bring Qudsiya back.

Little does she know that Natasha is also there.

The Drama

Natasha sees Qudsiya and loses her mind. She confronts Qudsiya and asks her uncomfortable question.

Natasha: Are you pregnant?

This girl’s possessiveness knows no bounds.

Natasha: Why aren’t you leaving?
Qudsiya: I will leave when Aliyan tells me to.

She would have thought that she has the best comeback, but she’s proven wrong. Soon.

Aliyan: You can go whenever you want to.
Qudsiya: I will leave in the morning.

Later in the lawn, we see the trio talking as grandma tries to calm Natasha and Aliyan.

Aliyan has had enough. He snaps at Natasha.

I don’t need you, he says.

Natasha walks out.

The Move

Qudsiya packs her bag. In the morning she is leaving by grandma doesn’t let her. Why? Don’t ask me. She’s so freaking confusing. What does she want from this couple?
