School Days: Nostalgia for My Favourite Subjects

Hey there, lovely readers! 🌼

Shabana Mukhtar is back with today’s daily prompt 2115: What was your favorite subject in school?

Ah, the nostalgia of school days. It’s fun to look back and reminisce about those times. When it comes to my favorite subject in school, there’s a clear winner-Math.

Math

I was a math genius—or at least that’s what I liked to believe. The numbers, the equations, the problems—I couldn’t get enough of them. I was that student who would scribble and solve math challenges in a rough notepad, even during lunch breaks. I had a knack for it, and I’d proudly solved all those tricky Group D questions, most of which appeared insurmountable to others.

Languages

But it wasn’t just math that held my fascination. I was an avid reader and stories in various languages were my passion. Whether it was Urdu, English, Hindi, or even Marathi, I devoured stories with enthusiasm. I loved how different languages allowed me to explore diverse worlds and cultures.

Geography and History

Geography and history were the other subjects that intrigued me. They offered a glimpse into the past and the vastness of our world. I found myself absorbed in the tales of civilizations, maps of distant lands, and the mysteries of our planet.

Not My Cup of Tea

Now, you might be wondering if there were any subjects I didn’t like. The answer is simple: science, political science, and economics. The irony here is that I ended up pursuing higher education in science and now have a career in STEM. Life has a funny way of making us appreciate the things we once disliked.

So, there you have it, my favorite subject in school was math, closely followed by languages, geography, and history. It’s funny how our school passions can shape our future, even when we least expect it.
