Qarz-e-Jaan Episode 31 Written Update and Review
This is the second last episode. In earlier episodes’ comment section, some people opined that the trial will go on, and Burhan would be the only person who understands Ammaar because he once commented that Ammaar khud se naraaz nazar aata hai.
It doesn’t look that way.
I mean, sure, the trial has begun, but it’s already announced that the next episode will be the finale, so there’s not much of the “trial” going on.
The whole Burhan vs Nashwa was a bit too much for me. Abhi kal ki ladki who has zero experience is going head to head with the seasoned criminal lawyer who has never lost a case. Also, their tu tu main main in the office was just ugly. UGLY. If it had happened IRL, one of them would be fired. I have seen it happening at my workplace.
So, Nashwa doesn’t like that Burhan has taken Ammaar’s case. After calling him names and making a scene at office, she quits and joins the public prosecutor’s office. We see a very long montage of both preparing for their case.
Barkat tries to shame Nashwa for what she’s doing. Nashwa tries to explain that it’s better than Ammaar pays for his crimes in this world taki jahannum ki aag se bach jaye. I was like: aisa hota hai kya? Allah will do justice, whether justice is served in this world or not. Unless Ammaar does a khalis tauba and apologizes to the people he has hurt and they forgive him, he’ll still be judged for his sins. That’s my understanding.
I still don’t understand why Burhan took Ammaar’s case. Was Bakhtiar’s words so convincing? Does he really think he can save Ammaar, who has killed Asad, even if the police doesn’t have enough evidence? Or does he really think that Ammaar would divorce Nashwa to marry Burhan? The drama and the people in this drama are twisted.
Parting Thoughts
Great performance by everyone, especially Fajr. Over the years, I kinda get this feeling that Yumna doesn’t pick characters that are strong. She picks characters that give her a margin to perform well. I mean, Nashwa is a flawed character, her acts and words are not in sync, she gives hope to Burhan, she hangs out with Ammaar after what has happened to Maheen; I don’t like her. Not many people do. Just a random thought that crossed my mind.
I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I still stick by my prediction of Episode 24 Ammaar will die, to pay for Asad’s murder, and indirectly for Maheen’s as well. I’d have liked to see Bakhtiar paying for his crimes. Let’s wait for the finale and see what happens.
