Disclaimer
This book is transliteration of Umera Ahmed’s masterpiece Peer-e-Kaamil WITHOUT HER PERMISSION.
This is only for those readers who understand Urdu but can’t read it. On Goodreads, some people asked meabout Roman transliteration of Peer-e-Kamil. I couldn’t find it, so I made a mental note to try and make it available to others for free when I get time. Then I forgot about it because I never get time.
And this morning, I got this book. Some kind soul had enough time to transliterate, print, and spiral bind and bring it home.
Anyone interested in reading the roman version can borrow from me.
And those online can read it here.
P.S. This is NOT English translation. If you want that, it’s available on Amazon.
MBA mein uski shaandaar kaamyaabi kisi ke liye bhi hairaan kun nahin thi. Uske department mein har ek ko pehle se hi is ka andaaza tha. Uske aur uske class fellows ke projects aur assignments mein itna farq hota tha ke uske professors ko ye maanne mein aar nahin tha ko wo muqaabley ki is daud mein das gaz aagey daud raha tha aur MBA ke dusrey saal mein usne is faasley ko aur badha diya tha.
Usne internship aqwaam-e-muttaheda (United Nations) ki ek agency mein ki thi aur uska MBA mukammal hone se pehle hi agency ke alawa uske paas 7 mukhtalif multinational companies ki taraf se offers maujood thin.
“Tum ab aage kya karna chahte ho?” uske result ke mutalliq jaanne ke baad Sikandar Usman ne apne paas bula kar pucha.
“Main wapas America jaa raha hoon. Main United Nations ke sath hi kaam karna chahta hoon.”
“Laikin main chahta hoon ke tum apna business shuru karo ya mere business mein shaamil ho jao.” Sikandar Usman ne usse kaha.
“Papa! Main business nahin kar sakta. Business wala temprament nahin hai mera. Main job karna chahta hoon aur main Pakistan mein rehna bhi nahin chahta.” Sikandar Usman hairaan hue.
“Tum ne pehle kabhi zikr nahin kiya ke tum Pakistan mein rehna nahin chahte. Tum mustaqil taur par America mein settle hona chahte ho?”
“Pehle main ne America mein settle hone ke barey mein nahin socha tha laikin ab main wahin rehna chahta hoon.”
“Kyun?”
Wo un se ye kehna nahin chahta tha ke Pakistan mein uska depression badh jaata hai. Wo musalsal Imama ke barey mein sochta rehta tha. Wahan har cheez use Imama ki yaad dilaati thi. Uske pachtaawey aur ehsaas-e-jurm mein izaafa hota jaata tha.
“Main yahan adjust nahin ho sakta.” Sikandar Usman kuch der use dekhte rahe.
“Halaan ke mera khayaal hai tum adjust ho sakte ho.”
Salar jaanta tha unka ishaara kis taraf tha magar wo khamoosh raha.
“Job karna chahte ho? Theek hai, chand saal job kar lo laikin uske baad aa kar mere business ko dekho. Ye sab kuch main tum logon ke liye hi stablish kar raha hoon, dusron ke liye nahin.”
Wo kuch der use samjhaate rahe, Salar khamushi se unki baatein sunta raha.
