Reason for Binging
YouTube insisted that I watch it.

My One-Line Takeaway
A fun, light workplace rom-com with charming moments — but the love triangle drags and gets frustrating over time.
I started watching this when four seasons were already on YouTube. Right from the get-go, I was always on the fence about this one, especially because of the premise (Liza is lying about her age — that makes her a felon, no?). But I still watched six seasons until they stopped posting new episodes. The back-and-forth between Josh and Charles was so annoying.
What It’s About
“Younger” follows Liza, a 40-year-old woman who pretends to be 26 so she can restart her career in publishing. As she balances friendships, work, romance, and her secret, things get complicated — especially when her lies begin to affect people she cares about.
What I Liked
- Light, breezy episodes — easy to binge
- Workplace setting + publishing world backdrop
- Strong female friendships (Kelsey, Maggie, Diana)
- Some genuinely sweet and emotional moments
- Feel-good tone in many arcs
What Didn’t Work for Me
- The “age-lie” premise gets stretched too long
- Lisa got out of the conflict far too easily in the earlier seasons.
- The love triangle becomes repetitive
- Characters keep circling the same conflicts: Kelsey’s power trip, Charles and Lisa wanting different things even though they were right for each other.
- Emotional stakes weaken in later seasons. Lisa’s i-don’t-want-to-get-married philosophy was so hard to digest.
- Maggie’s love life related scenes made me shut my eyes and cringe, many a times.
Viewing Experience
- Good for background / comfort watching
- Works best when you don’t take it too seriously
- Lighthearted, but not always satisfying emotionally
Favourite Character / Moment
Diana’s personality, confidence, and fashion moments often stole the show. She was unapologetic about her choices, which I loved.

Final Thoughts
“Younger” starts out fresh, warm, and engaging, but somewhere along the way the story keeps looping around the same conflicts. Still, it has comfort-watch value and a lovable cast — just go in with moderate expectations.
