Muamma Episode 12 Written Update and Review

Is anyone else amazed how confidently Jahan Aara lies through her teeth? I know I am.

I didn’t know the mirror broken, I didn’t know you guys weren’t there.

Gaslighting at its best.

This is Junaid and Mahira upon noticing the fixed mirror. Love Anoushay’s dress, by the way.

Advocate Shakeel calls to inform that he has readied papers for Sarmad. Whether it’s for divorce or his release or something else, we don’t know. In jail, Sarmad is threatening Shakeel, reminding him that nothing has been done to free him. Sarmad killed a girl named Nadiya, for future reference.

Mahira first asks Asiya about any other way of entering the house, Asiya lies. Then Mahira confronts Nabeel the delivery boy. She has recognised him in all avatars: the electrician Javed, the mahzoob who tried to scare them, and that he was in their house (last one is betong logic, there’s no way she would recognise someone in passing). He lies, of course.

Asiya lies to Jahan Aara that Ashiq was ashamed of what he did (he WAS NOT, the opposite actually).

Mahira lies to her mother-in-law about not knowing what rent they pay.

So, everybody lies. Reminds me of Dr Gregory House. Everybody lies was his favourite line.

Khala has come to stay with them, and at every step she does not stop from reminding Mahira that they are living away from “home”.

Mahira calls Junaid, informed about Khala’s visit. Things escalate quickly, and Khala leaves.
When Junaid comes home, he blames things on Mahira. Jahan Aara watches and enjoys. So, there is a rift between the couple, but I can’t say Jahan Aara is to be blamed for this. Mahira is responsible as well. Khala is awful but Mahira is no saint, either.
Jahan Aara gets a call from her mother, they reminisce the past, the discrimination between Sarfaraz and Jahan Aara. Apparently, Jahan Aara has two kids: Isha and Shahmeer. Really or another lie? Who knows? Most certainly a lie.

Review

Syed Jibran is soooo good as Sarmad. Khadoos, privileged, unbothered.
