Dr. Bahu explores the theme of quiet control hidden behind progressive appearances. In a respected family of doctors, their youngest non-doctor son is married to a doctor—adding another accomplished daughter-in-law to a household where women are not allowed to work.
When the youngest daughter-in-law enters this world, she begins to challenge the unspoken rules, subtly shifting power and exposing buried hypocrisies.

Doctor Bahu Episode 29 Written Update and Review
Mama’s Boy
I have been telling this from the beginning. Salman is a mama’s boy, big time, and he is a walking-talking red flag, maroon flag, if you will. Sure, he’s sensitive and all, but the way he snaps at everyone, especially Saniya for every little thing, is unacceptable. Phadde-baaz hai ladka. I mean, not that Saniya is any different. She’s also pange-baaz. The only good side of Salman is that he tried to help Faryal (which turned into a disaster) and that he helped Waqas when he saw he was reformed.
In this episode, it was primarily Salman and his “issues”. First, he insists to know what happened that took Farheen’s life. Bhai, Allah ki marzi? But Saniya feels obligated to tell him all the shitty things that happened: Farheen talking about Dr Shahnawaz’s love for Dr Rubina, and learning that he was never happy with her, etc. Kyu bahen? Kya zaroorat thhi batane ki? Har chiz oakne ki nahin hoti (try to remember the sound you make when you’re feeling nauseated and throw up… Remember? Oaaaaak. That’s oakna) .
So, Salman blames Saniya for
- Not telling him that things weren’t all sunny and shiny back home when he was in US
- Working at Dr Rubina’s even though she knew Shahnawaz had a thing for Dr Rubina. Like, in what universe is that logic valid?
- Not telling him that Farheen is going through a lot.
- Still going to Dr Rubina’s hospital
And then, of course, he asks Saniya to resign from her job. Basically, he expects that Saniya wasted half a year at Shahnawaz’s clinic and now some time at this hospital. She should just keep hopping from one hospital to another for doing residency.
Dr Rubina and Ahmad comes for taziyat, and Salman creates a scene there by saying shitty things. I mean, many a times, every time he confronts people, I question his language. The only time I liked it was when he took a stand in front of Asad. But then, he fought with Saquib, and Waqas and now with Rubina and Ahmad, and EVERY time he argues with Saniya… He has very poor temper and very poor word choices. Bada hi koi jahil type baat karta hai.
Mina’s Bravery
On good side, Mina is taking care of things and readying to move on. She even sits down with Ambar and advises her to take a bold decision now rather than regretting her choices for life. Ambar, by the way, seems very clingy in this episode.
Saad’s Stance
Dr Saad learns that welfare department isn’t doing things the way they were expected to, even gets threatened:
Dr Shahnawaz ki ghair-maujoodgi mein don’t expect us to dance to your tunes. We won’t be able to help.
This clears things in his head and the man immediately calls Sumaira, says he’ll come to bring her home, and agrees for a “talk”. I was so relieved that Saad was not involved in the corruption; I always doubted him. He’s also a nice person, not bringing his ego once he knew he was wrong. Bravo, my man.
Parting Thoughts
I still think Saniya should separate from Salman. I mean, I don’t like her much, she’s very unlikable FMC, but MMC is more toxic. Kehte hain na, annon mein kana raja. Waise Saniya is better when compared to Salman. She should separate from him, let him whine for life.
And that’s all for the episode. Look at that. It took me 18 hours to sit down and post this. Sometimes, I’m too lazy.
