Dear Diary | 1448 AH | Day 25

Muharram 25, 1448 AH

What a strange day it was!

I’ll have to give you some background, okay? So, yesterday, I had dinner, was talking to me nephew, chatting with my mum, calling people to ask if they were okay (monsoon season sickness spree in every household, y’know). My Teams app opened, no fault of mine, must have tapped the wrong icon, and I saw a note from my ex-manager:

check project channel, you have some action items.

At 10:30 PM? After being told my manager’s incompetence is my fault? That I’m not high agency? No, thank you.

But y’all know how my brain works, right? I watched dramas, watched bookshelf organizing videos (that’s the latest obsession of mine), played candy crush for two hours straight (I had bought some booster pack and wanted to make the most of it, more on Candy Crush in some other post). After Fajr, I fell asleep but kept waking up with the thoughts:

Oh, I’m getting late. Kaam karna hai.

Oh, kahin 11 to nahin baj gaye?

Arey, meri meeting hai na.

Everytime, thankfully, I’d recall its Saturday, and then go back to sleep. Until the alarms stopped; I don’t have many alarms for weekend. Around noon, mum woke me up.

Dopaher ho gayi hai.

Allah!

And thus began the day. I haven’t been able to finish much of my weekend TODO list, though I’ve made some progress, not happy with myself. Aadha weekend is over, aadha baqi hai.

NOTE: This is part of “write one post every day for a year” challenge.
