Introduction

Pehli Barish Episode 3 Written Update and Review
Okay? Another episode where nothing much happened. This is not a fast-paced drama is it? There was loads of eye-f*cking, but much less than the previous episodes, which felt like a respite honestly.
Some of the now-usual beats:
- Dania pining for Maani (which sounds weird but that’s how it was)
- Nimra trying to push Maani towards Nawal.
- (Overtly) sweet family moments but worth noting that Maani notices a change in Behzad’s attitude lately. He has some idea of what this is about.
This episode brought more revelations.
- Nimra is actually Naveeda and Hashir’s fourth daughter who they “lent” to Maleeha who was single and lonely, apparently.
- Dania was married to Asim (who has another family)
- Dania couldn’t continue with Behzad because Behzad was in love with someone else, that sounded like a load of BS.
Let’s properly start now. The second episode ended as Nawal sees Nimra and Maani together. She still doesn’t get it so when Nimra lies about the topic of conversation (who’s Maani refutes), she believes Nimra and not Maani. Bahot bura dil tootega bahen.
Later, when she’s talking to Ruby, she’s like: Dania Phupho couldn’t continue with Behzad because Behzad was in love with someone else, and that it’s wrong to expect someone to love you when they love someone else. It’s at this point that us viewers would want to reach out, shake her shoulders and scream: wake up and smell the coffee.
But I understand that it’s a dramatic irony, we know something that Nawal doesn’t but that doesn’t mean I won’t roll my eyes on Nawal.
I liked the kind of understanding Maani has with Nimra. When he picks up her call, he’s like “ab kya hua?”, and then when she asks him to not tell Nawal anything, he just agrees. He’s in it for real and he knows what he wants. I like that clarity in main characters.
As for the old couple, they connect over text and call; both lying through their teeth (for some god forsaken reason) about their happy married life.
Naveeda meets Maleeha and Nimra, announces Mohid’s upcoming return to Pakistan and nikaah plans. Nimra refuses flatly: you gave me away, now you have no right on me, my life, or decisions about my life… or something to that effect. Things got interesting. I still don’t know who Tehmeena is, but this dynamic is getting interesting. Like there was a love triangle and now it’s a love rectangle. Will it become a polygon soon? I’ll have to watch more episodes for that.
