I watched a clip yesterday, Lucky Ali’s performance… It was not really a performance, he was just talking to the audience.
We don’t want to admit it, but it’s true. We’re all going to go. I’m going to go. I travel with my ihram, which will be my kafan.
I paraphrase a little but that short clip hit me so hard. A Bollywood singer (these folks presumably only think about worldly stuff, right?) is so in touch with the reality that he’s always prepared, always carries his kafan with him.
And then there’s me, planning for the next five years and praying to Allah:
Allah mujhe imaan aur sehat wali lambi zindagi dena, abhi main be bahot se qarz adaa karne hain. Ameen.
