I promise, this the last time I’m ordering books. 7 book orders in 20 days it a bit much, especially when almost every order has ~10 books.

Today’s temptation?

Let’s reiterate: I wanted to use expand my mini library and read physical books more than digital ones. The idea is to open it for people some day, and spread the love of reading. 

Let me summarize the purchase.

Timeline

8-July-2026: Order placed but the order history does not show that I’d be getting a blind date with a book, or that I’ve requested a video. Bummer.

9-July-2026: Reminder messages about books in cart/wishlist, that I exist.

10-July-2026: Regret message that order is taking longer to dispatch. I am seeing a pattern here.

10-July-2026: Another regret message. Faced the same with my previous order also. 

11-July-2026:  I got a message that one of the books is out of stock. I spent an hour looking for a replacement. Then, a few hours later, I checked if the order is dispatched. It wasn’t. But the billing showed Rs 80 for delivery. That’s not cool.

I selected enough books to be eligible for free delivery (and a free blind date with a book, offer of the day). I don’t like this sudden change. Would it have happened if my order was prepaid? I don’t think so. I cancelled the order. I’m already 10 book orders in. My mother will be happy if I tell her that I CANCELLED one order. 

I’m not too happy to let go of the books I chose over four days but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. 

I noticed one more problem. When I referred my brother, I got Rs 50 coupon, which I applied for placing this order. Now, the order is cancelled, and the coupon is gone.

DISAPPOINTED!

The Third BookChor Experience

I don’t know what to say. I really don’t.

My first purchase was alright.

The second one improved a bit because they shared the video but the order was dispatched way too late but the book conditions were okay, nice for Rs. 49 mark, gaining half a star over the first experience.

And now, the third one has disapponted me on three different accounts.

1. Delivery fee assigned even for order above Rs 599 
2. Book “out of stock” after placing the order
3. Coupon gone when order cancelled

Final Thoughts

I will keep browsing this store, but I don’t know if I’m going to purchase anything soon. I have purchased ~60 books in July 2026 (need to confirm final tally), and I don’t think I should buy more unless I finish reading these.
