Safar 7, 1448 AH

I had a long working day yesterday so naturally I compensated it today by logging out at four. It helped that the three tickets I was expected to finish this week had very little for me to do. The SDET has the mentality of a… I forgot the metaphor I was going for… let’s just say he creates a bug for the silliest question that comes to his mind because let’s face it, conversation is for professionals and grown ups and my team is a bunch of kids.

So, he created three tickets, which looks good on me when I send end-of-week updates. I’m one of those team members who have highest number of tickets solved in a week.

So, around 11:30 AM, I looked at first, reassigned with comments and screenshots. One hour, one defect down.

Second one was referring to a non-existent section in the documentation and the suggestion was so small, we could have solved it without a defect with a two-minute call. But no. So, half an hour later, that one was reassigned as well.

Post lunch, I started the third one. This seemed like a monster because it apparently had schema level errors. I tried the steps SDET was trying and the freaking script that was failing, went through, without a glitch. Captured the whole run in a video, attached to the defect and throw it back. Balls in his court.

All of that before 4 o’clock, so I logged out around 4:30 PM, a short while before Asr . What a productive day it was. Allah, tera shukr.
