Today, we’re kinding recycling dailyprompt-2065, where we answered the question: What would your life be like without music?

And today’s question is: What’s your all-time favorite album?

Seriously, can we have some variety in daily prompts?

Coming to the topic at hand…

You know, it’s a bit embarrassing to admit this, considering that just the  day before yesterday, while answering to dailyprompt-2065, I declared to the world that I don’t exactly have a passionate love affair with music. And now I need pick a favourite album. Irony!

But hey, we all have our moments, right? So, let’s dive into the not-so-musical journey of my all-time favorite albums. Drumroll, please!

The Heart-Pounding Playlist: Slumdog Millionaire (A. R. Rahman 2008)

Once upon a time, in a land not too far away, I used to groove to the beat of a particular album that had me working like a woman possessed. That album? “Slumdog Millionaire.” Every track in this auditory masterpiece hits a different note, a different part of the brain, and cranks up my productivity dial to “crazy woman” mode. Seriously, if you haven’t experienced the sheer energy this album can infuse into your work ethic, you’re missing out. It’s a musical rollercoaster that keeps the adrenaline pumping.

Additions to the Hit Parade

Fast forward a few years, and my list of cherished albums gained a couple more entries, both brought to you by none other than the maestro himself, A. R. Rahman.

a) Rockstar (A. R. Rahman 2011)

Now, this one, my friends, is a masterpiece from start to finish. From the soul-stirring “Nadaan Parindey” to the hauntingly beautiful instrumental “The Dichotomy of Fame,” it’s an album that gives me goosebumps every time I hit play. It’s as if A. R. Rahman reached into the depths of the human experience and translated it into musical magic.

b) Highway (A. R. Rahman 2013)

From the soulful “Patakha Guddi” to the introspective “Kahan Hoon Main,” every single track is a work of art. It’s like a musical journey that takes you through the twists and turns of life, all encapsulated in one unforgettable album. Listening to this album also paints a vivid picture of this movie before my eyes, which I watched in a theatre. Hauntingly beautiful!

A Little Something Extra

Oh, and let’s not forget that one track from another album Guru(A. R. Rahman 2006) that’s managed to worm its way into my heart: “Jaage Hain Der Tak.” It may not be an entire album, but it’s a musical gem worth mentioning.

Now, I can already hear the chorus of voices saying, “This person must have a thing for A. R. Rahman’s music.” Well, guilty as charged! There’s just something about his compositions that resonates with the very essence of my musical soul, even if that soul doesn’t usually crave melodies. So, there you have it, a list of albums (and I was genuinely worried I wouldn’t be able to name a single one).

In the grand symphony of life, these albums have played their unique tunes and left an indelible mark on my musical landscape, proving that even the unlikeliest of candidates can have their musical moments. Cheers to the magic of music and the artistry of A. R. Rahman! 🎶🥁🎸
