Jhok Sarkar Episode 5 Written Update & Review

The attack

Arsalan wakes up hearing some noise. He steps out of his room, with a gun in his hand. Two men attack him from the back but our dude is fit and fine, ahem. He is more than competent to deal with situations like these.

Meeral’s reaction to Arsalan’s appointment

Obviously, he is disturbed by the news. He calls for Jahandar to come for a meeting. The meeting takes place. Peeral suggests inviting Arsalan for dinner. As expected, Meeral flips out, and as usual, Peeral shuts up his son.

Later, Peeral calmly explains his game plan to win over Arsalan–first by chaploosi and then by fear. Meeral understands the game, and suggests talking to the home minister to replace Arsalan.

Peeral does talk to the superiors, and is promised that Arsalan would be sent away from Jhok Sial, soon.

The Chak-De moment

As promised, Arsalan takes his team out for a morning jog, and other stuff. A villager comments that “they  are preparing for war”. Funny!

Jahandar is the lamest, slowest of them all. Super funny!!

Noori & Peeral

“Apne mard ka gunah maaf kar sakti ho, nikaah nahin,” Peeral said.

How profound!

Noori doesn’t want Peeral’s loyalty. She doesn’t give two hoots about what Peeral does. Peeral, on the other hand, also announces his eternal freedom.

~

Later, Peeral praises Noori’s beauty and mentions

Noori: Why can’t a man forget about a woman’s past while the woman tolerate his past and present?

I loved how Peeral understands Noori and even makes an effort to pamper her. Asif Raza Mir is so freaking good as Peeral. He is mighty impressed by his third wife. Noori is one kick-ass character, I must say.

Sassi & Noori

Sassi comes to see Noori. My first reaction was: why did you come here, girl?

Thankfully, Noori also says the same thing. She also understands that Peeral and Meeral both are lecherous. Anyway, so Noori has come to terms with her fate. She tells Sassi to inform Shaukat about her surrender to Peeral, and that Shaukat should move on.

Arsalan’s Allies

We see Arsalan make some progress in making more allies. Saad Azhar makes his appearance SHO Shorpur Mohammad Ramzan. He is a nice chap, and gets along well with Arsalan.

Majeed, the constable-slash-mechanic who will fix vehicles for Arsalan. Arsalan likes a bike and asks Majeed to fix it.

Majeed impresses it Araslan by finishing his job with finess.

Arsalan’s Foes

Jahandar informs Arsalan about the dinner invitation. Arsalan rejects the invitation, making Jahandar uncomfortable.

“Afarson ko ghar bula kar izzat dene ka silsila ab band hona chahiye,” Arsalan says.

Sassi & Meeral

When Sassi is leaving, she runs into Meeral. I knew this was coming. We all saw it coming.

Meeral is now leering at Sassi. Baqayeda… Bas raal tapakne ki deri hai..

He learns about Jeevan. This is his chance to lure Jeevan into a world of darkness. He announces that Jeevan is his new trusted guy, and even gifts him a gun.

While Arsalan is out for a ride on his bike, he runs into Meeral with his henchmen.

Now, we await the first phadda between Arsalan and Meeral.

Review

I still have the same question: Where is Shaukat?

This drama is slow, but it keeps me engaged, so I would be waiting for the next episode, not as eagerly though.
