I was travelling from my hometown to Pune yesterday. Yep, that’s why I couldn’t review Sang-e-Maah’s latest episode. It has been 9 hours since I arrived home, and I still haven’t reviewed it, but that’s a different story.
Travelling back is always painful and emotional, and in that order.
Caught by the Reading Bug
I read a few pages of Aab-e-Gum again. Aab-e-Gum is like shrikhand; you can eat a teaspoon or two, but you can’t finish a bowlful. It gets too much. Similarly, you can read a few pages of Aab-e-Gum in one go, but you can’t read too much of it. It gets too much.

Short Stories Are the Best
Since Aab-e-Gum proved to be a bit too much humour, I sought change. I also had one Urdu Monthly magazine in my bag, but I was too lazy to reach down under the berth and get it (I’m the queen of Lazy World). So, instead, I asked my sister if she has any recommendations. You see, she has a treasure cove of Urdu novel PDFs in her phone. That helps me, because I get a curated list of stories to read. She recommended me an anthology of Anjum Ansar, and it immediately piqued my interest. I love Anjum Ansar. She knows how to tickle your funny bone. In fact, she was my go-to rom-com writer before Saima Akram Chaudhry. I know, I must post about these writers. I will get to it, soon, I promise (to myself).
I digress.
So, I read 3 short stories by Anjum Ansar.
The first two were boring, but third one was good. It was full of cliches and was predictable, but it was fun nonetheless.

A Hectic Morning
Coming back to Pune is always so busy and hectic. Clean the house, mop the floor, do all the dishes again, do a heavy load of laundry, take a long bath to rinse off the journey off your back… And to make things more hectic, Monday morning also meant logging remotely and attend meetings at 9:30 AM. Who keeps meetings at that hour? I have a theory that my manager has intentionally setup our daily standups to torture me. Forget theory, I can bet good money that it is intentional. Argh!
So, that was my mourning Monday. How was yours?

Mourning Mondays is a new series (I hope I can be consistent about this series) of blog posts that will describe the previous week and my current mood. If I get love from people, I might start other series’s as well. My brain is like a goldmine of brilliant AF ideas.
