My Favourite Types of Foods

Greetings, my fellow thinkers and ponderers!🌼

Shabana Mukhtar here. Let’s dive into today’s daily prompt: Do I see myself as a leader?

Ah, the age-old question: What are your favorite types of foods? Well, if you’d asked me this a few months ago, my response would have been a glorious symphony of culinary delights. But life, my friends, has a way of throwing curveballs at our taste buds.

You see, I’ve embarked on a journey that I didn’t exactly sign up for—courtesy of a few lifestyle diseases and a stern-faced doctor who now dictates my every move. It’s all about those lifestyle choices, they say. So, let’s break it down, shall we?

Exercise Is the New BFF

First off, the doctor insists that I should be on a first-name basis with exercise. You know, that thing where you move your body and break a sweat? Yeah, that’s my new best friend. It’s become as essential as my morning coffee, and trust me, that’s saying something.

A Gastronomic Minefield

Now, here’s where things get tricky. The doctor’s second commandment: Thou shalt watch what thou eat. Gone are the days of carefree munching on almost anything and everything. Carbs? Nope. Sugar? Forget about it. Fruits? Well, you can have a few, but not too many. Potatoes, meat, eggs? They’ve all gone on an indefinite vacation from my plate.

So, what am I left with, you ask? Veggies and water. Yep, that’s the gastronomic reality I now face. My taste buds are staging a protest that rivals any epic drama. They want to rebel against this veggie takeover, but alas, they’re outnumbered.

The Sigh-Worthy Reality

It’s a sigh-worthy reality, my friends. I can’t even indulge in the guilty pleasures I once held dear. That occasional pizza slice? A distant memory. Chocolate? It’s become an elusive dream. It’s like my taste buds are trapped in a food prison, and all I can do is watch wistfully as others savor the forbidden flavors.

But you know what? It’s a choice I’ve made for my health, and I’m sticking to it. Because in the grand scheme of things, a plate full of veggies and a glass of water is a small price to pay for a healthier tomorrow.

So, to answer that question about my favorite foods, let’s just say they’ve taken a temporary vacation while I navigate this new path of wellness. But who knows, maybe one day I’ll get to welcome them back with open arms. Until then, it’s me, the veggie enthusiast, signing off.

Cheers to veggies and water, my friends! 🥦💧

Cravings and Confessions

But… that doesn’t really answer the question, does it?

If we’re talking about favorite foods, you can bet that Biryani is right at the top of my list. That aromatic blend of spices, tender chunks of chicken, and perfectly cooked rice—it’s the stuff of foodie dreams. And don’t even get me started on the glorious potato, versatile in all its forms. Whether it’s mashed, fried, or part of a curry, those spuds have a special place in my heart and stomach. I just finished a plate of boiled, seasoned potatoes, could have added a picture if I hadn’t finished it already.

Next, Chicken Tikka.

Ah, the sizzling, marinated goodness that it is! That charred perfection, bursting with flavors, is a culinary masterpiece. And speaking of masterpieces, let’s not forget the irresistible temptation of chocolate cake. I know it might not technically be a “food” in some books, but hey, it’s a delightful creation that deserves a spot on the list.

Cravings: The Culprit

I get it. Cravings have a sneaky way of making us spill the beans (or should I say rice?) about our true food loves. So, if you’re craving these delectable dishes right now, it’s no wonder they made it to the top of your list. There’s just something about the allure of comfort food that’s irresistible, especially when it comes to Biryani, Chicken Tikka, potatoes, and that decadent chocolate cake.

So, there you have it, the delicious confession of your favorite foods, including a little detour into my veggie-filled world earlier. Cravings can be quite persuasive, can’t they? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I might just have to go satisfy a craving of my own. 😉🍗🍰
