This book is transliteration of Umera Ahmed’s masterpiece Peer-e-Kaamil WITHOUT HER PERMISSION.
This is only for those readers who understand Urdu but can’t read it. On Goodreads, some people asked meabout Roman transliteration of Peer-e-Kamil. I couldn’t find it, so I made a mental note to try and make it available to others for free when I get time. Then I forgot about it because I never get time.
And this morning, I got this book. Some kind soul had enough time to transliterate, print, and spiral bind and bring it home.
Anyone interested in reading the roman version can borrow from me.

Lahore aane ke baad wo baa qaaidgi se unke paas jaane laga tha. Use un ke paas sukoon milta tha. Sirf unke paas guzara hua waqt aisa hota tha jab wo kuch der ke liye mukammal taur par apne depression se aazadi haasil kar leta tha. Baaz dafa unke paas khamush baithe baithe bey ikhteyaar us ka dil chahta ke wo unke saamne sab kuch ugal de jise wo itne saalon se apne andar zaher ki tarah bhare phir raha tha. Pachhtawa, jurm…….., bey chaini, bey basi, sharmindagi, nidaamat, har cheez………… phir use khauf paida hota Dr Sabt Ali usko pata nahin kin nazron se dekhenge. Uski himmat dam tod jaati.
Dr Sabt Ali ibhaam ko dur karne mein kamaal rakhte the. Wo unke paas khamush baitha rehta. Sirf sunta, sirf samajhta, sirf nateejey akhaz karta. Koi dhund thi jo chhat rahi thi. Koi cheez thi jo nazar aane lagi thi. Jin sawaalon ko wo kai saalon se sar par bojh ki surat mein liye phir raha tha unke paas unke jawaab the.
“Islam ko samajh kar seekhein to aap ko pata chalega ke is mein kitin wus’at hai. Ye tang nazri aur tang dili ka deen nahin hai na hi in donon cheezon ki is mein gunjaaish hai. Ye main se shuru ho kar ham par jaata hai. Fard se maashrey tak. Islam aap se ye nahin kehta ke aap 24 ghantey sar par topi, hath mein tasbeeh, har jagah musalla bichhaye baithe rahein. Har baat mein is ke hawaaley dete rahein. Nahin, ye to aap ki zindagi se………aap ki apni zindagi se hawaala chahta hai. Ye to aap se raast baazi aur paarsaai ka mutaalba karta hai. Dayanat daari aur lagan chahta hai. Ikhlaas aur isteqaamat maangta hai. Ek acha musalmaan maangta hai. Ek acha musalmaan apni baaton se nahin apne kirdaar se dusron ko muta’assir karta hai.”
Salar unki baaton ko ek chhote se recorder mein record kar leta phir ghar aa kar sunta rehta. Use ek rehbar ki talaash thi, Dr Sabt Ali ki surat mein use wo rehbar mil gaya tha.
