Sabaat | Two & a Half Reasons to Watch

1 The Director

Shahzad Kashmiri has directed some of very popular dramas – Mere Humdum Mere Dost, Bin Roye and Dil-e-Muztar.

He is also associated with my all time favourite dramas – Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Maat and Mata e Jaan Hai Tu. So, I know this new drama is helmed by someone who knows his job.

Incidentally, four of the above are penned by Farhat Ishtiaq and two by Umera Ahmed. I am wondering if there is a backstory to this coincidence.

2 Intrigued

Sarah Khan is seen in a westerni avatar, Mawra seems like a girl from humble background who fights for women rights. These two girls are essaying roles that does not match with their real life personas.

Mawra’s character reminds me of Kashaf – cotton salwar kameez, dupatta wrapped around her head, just the way Kashaf did.

And, that scene where Sarah sees someone else’s face in the mirror. I am intrigued enough.

2.5 Sunday Drama

There is no other Sunday drama for me to watch. Ehd-e-Wafa ended two weeks ago. I have to pick something to fill the void.

Stay tuned for first episode’s review in a few hours.
