Drama Review | Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay | Episode 20

It’s time to review the twentieth episode of Hum Kahan Kay Sachhay Thay. It’s based on Umera Ahmed’s novel of the same title. If you’re interested in the novel’s plot. read  this post  for more details).

Hum Kahan Kay Sachhay Thay Episode 20 Written Update

Woah, what a drag it was. First, we see a recap as Shabbo narrates what happened that day. Then, Aswad reads Mehreen’s diary that explains exactly what happened that day. Then, we see another flashback. It’s like nailing the hammer repeatedly to drive home a point. We geddit. Can we move on, please?
Rebeya comes to the hospital to see Mehreen. She has finally put her down and decided to take Mehreen to her place. I feel for Rabeya, but why is everyone trying to redeem themselves once Mehreen is hospitalized. I know, this is just a drama but it happens IRL. That’s what bothers me more. The only character that has stood by Mehreen all the time is Saleha. And she has my respect. I salute Saleha Khala.
I didn’t really watch the scene where Mahira’s voice-over talks about the events of “that” night. I heard it as I trimmed my nails. She sounded like, I kid you not, a fourth-grader giving speech at independence day.
Janab-e-sadr, muazzaz samayeen, aur pyare sathiyo…
Aaj hum yahan 15 agast ka jashn manane jama huye hain…
All the students had the same tone and same pauses. Mehreen’s voice-over sounded like that speech.
The best scene, for me, was when Aswad told Saleha how Mashal died. Huma Nawab and Usman Mukhtar both have performed exceedingly well.
Usman Mukhtar and Kubra Khan both deserve a round of applause for several minutes. They have aced their grey characters.

Have you read the novel ? Or my review? What do you think of the story? I will meet you in another review.
