Zamil is awake, restless, and then suddenly he gets a call from Arham.

The guard questions Zamil.

Guard: Saab, itni subah kahan ja rahe hain.
Zamil: Namaz padhne ja raha hoon. Aaj puchh liya hai, dobara mat puchhna.

Zamil is still not very sure of how to perform namaz, we can see his restlessness. Later, he thanks Arham for everything.

Arham: Jab tum US chale jaoge toh tumhein apni namaz ki hifazat khud karni hogi

Parents: Kahan thhe?
Zamil: Namaz padhne gaya thha.
Parents: Why?

I like his stance. I just hope that he sticks to the routine. Namaz ki hifazat karna mushkil hi hota hai, aap kitne hi namazi na ho jayein. Shaitan kisi bhi tarah bhatka deta hai

Khushbakht and Abu Bakar talk, about nothing and everything.

Abu Bakar: Ammi main jhoot nahin bolta. Aap Hamna ke baare mein mujh par shak na karein.
Khushbakht: Iss umr mein ladkiyan naadaan hoti hain.
Abu Bakar: Iss umr mein ladkiyan aur lakde dono nadaan hote hain.

Zaryab and Nafeesa talk about how Zaryab can help Zamil stay away from namaz, astaghfirullah. Gym laga lena, baher ki actiivties mein involve kar lena.

Thankfully, we don’t see the flight. Right after arriving at their 2 bedroom apartment, Zaryab and Zamil fight, like cats and dogs. Apparently, they have fought throughout the flight, and the ride to the apartment.

Taufeeq, the guy who arranged the apartment (Zaryab -> Faryal -> Shuja -> Beenish -> Abu Bakar -> Abbas -> Taufeeq -> Apartment)

The next morning, Zamil is in a good mood. And we see the Umera Ahmed magic woven through words.

Zamil: “Let’s not discuss religion.”
Zaryab: “Our religions aren’t different.”
Zamil: “You’re non-practicing, I’m practicing.”
Zaryab: “I can count your practicing days on one hand.”
Zamil: “I’m trying to become a better muslim, let me.”
Zaryab: “You were supposed to become an entrepreneur.”

Some time later, Zaryab starts again.

Zaryab: “Religion is making to less kind.”

(This is for the guy who made her breakfast)

Zamil: “If you think religion is making me less kind, then I feel pity for you.”

The montage of Boston reminded me of my own little stint in Vancouver. It was one of the most memorable times of my life.

Zaryab: “I don’t think you’ll be able to manage studies and namaz together.
Zamil: Jamat to tum ne miss kara hi di hai. Main namaz padh ke aata hoon.

Love this verison of Zamil. Nameer Khan is killing it in this role. He usually does, but this role suits him.

 

I can’t get enough of this drama. Why hasn’t Umera Ahmed written a novel first on this? Or she has but I don’t know about it?
