Binge Watch 2025 | Liza

Reason for Choosing the Show

Liza seems funny in her interviews, so why not?

About the Show

  • Platform: YouTube Premium
  • Genre: Comedy / Slice-of-life / Internet-era humour
  • Language / Country: English / USA
  • Seasons: 3

My One-Line Takeaway

I went in expecting fun, light humour — but the show felt loud, exaggerated, and overwhelming, and I couldn’t stay with it.

What It’s About

The show follows Liza, a gig-economy worker who takes up random on-demand jobs to earn money while navigating friendships, adulthood, and chaotic everyday situations.

Characters

  • Liza
Energetic, loud, hyper-expressive — but often “too much” to watch for long stretches.
  • Oliver
Supportive friend, dramatic and flamboyant — sometimes funny, many a times overdone.
  • Harlow
Well-meaning, quirky, but not always grounded.

The cast felt intentionally designed to represent many identities — but it sometimes came across as checkbox-style rather than organic.

My Review / Thoughts

I had watched a few interviews of Liza Koshy and found her funny — so I thought her show would be, too.

But… it wasn’t.

I sampled a few episodes across two seasons and still couldn’t keep up. The energy felt excessive. Liza was “too much” for me — too loud, too exaggerated, almost exhausting to watch.

The show also felt like it was trying very hard to be socially inclusive in its casting and character mix — which is nice in theory, but here it sometimes looked more like box-ticking than natural storytelling.

Overall, it just didn’t land for me.

What I Liked

  • A few situational jokes here and there
  • The idea of gig-life comedy in theory
  • Fast-paced, easy-to-dip-into episodes

What Didn’t Work for Me

  • Liza’s performance felt overly exaggerated
  • Humour leaned into chaos instead of wit
  • Episodes felt loud and overwhelming
  • Character mix felt forced rather than organic
  • Couldn’t emotionally connect with the show

Viewing Experience

  • Works only if you enjoy high-energy, internet-style comedy
  • Not a relaxed or comfort watch
  • I couldn’t continue beyond scattered sampling

Favourite Element

Occasional small jokes about everyday life — relatable in parts, but not enough to hold interest.

Who Should Watch It

  • Viewers who enjoy:
    • loud, fast-paced comedy
    • YouTube-style humour
    • over-the-top character dynamics
  • Not ideal for viewers who prefer grounded or subtle humour

My Rating

2.4 / 5 — energetic, but too over-the-top for me

Final Thoughts

“Liza on Demand” had potential and energy, but the humour style wasn’t my kind of comedy. I dipped into multiple episodes — and still couldn’t stay with it.

So long.
