Sen Cal Kapimi | Season 1 | Episode 6

Before We Begin

I have been meaning to watch Sen Çal Kapımı for almost a year. The problem is, I found a website which had listed all key events and the detailed article spoiled it for me. I mean, this drama goes through some pretty bizarre twists and turns. Besides, this drama has two seasons. It is never a good idea. I watched Emergency Pyar, and they could not maintain the contniuity of the two seasons.  All I’m saying is, I have my apprehensions about this dizi.

But then, last week, I saw a few Urdu dubbed episodes of the drama, and I thought–why not?

Alright, with the basics established, let get to the episode.

Sen Cal Kapimi Episode 6 Written Review & Update

Part 6.1

Eda does a slo-mo walk away from the people, and that’s when the Prince Charming, the Knight in shining armour comes, grabs Eda’s hands and rescues her. He whisks Eda away to a yacht, into the sea.

I like the whole sequence as Eda and Serkan enjoy their solitude, but the editing was too choppy. In one moment, Serkan is at the stage deliverying his acceptance speech having no idea about the viral gossip, and the next moment he is by Eda’s side. When and how exactly did Engin tell Serkan about this? Did Engin interrupt Serkan’s speech? It makes no sense.

So, All I’m saying is, this could have been better.

Also, Melo is just too annoying. Everyone who talks too much annoys me too much. That’s why I’m not watching Inadina Ask but more on that later (hopefully). In this episode, Fifi, Ayfer and Melo are at Bolat’s house for a meal. Melo has to take a job interview and freaks out. She isn’t dressed, she doesn’t have a laptop, she isn’t prepared, and she just don’t  common sense. That scene was so irritating, I can’t even begin. I also don’t like her because she’s the one drooling over and falling for Kaan’s moves. Just disappointed in her.

Part 6.2

August 19 is special for Serkan and he takes a day off. And the reason has to do with something related to Eyden Bolat, and why doesn’t go out of her house.

The rest of the episode was primarily about a huge challenge that Eda has undertaken without telling anyone. Mr Fikret, Serkan’s client, has arranged for a diva to perform on their anniversary. This is the least he could do for his ailing wife. The diva, however, has given a long list of things to be arranged for her accommodation. Eda got emotional listening to Mr Fikret’s story and has accepted to take this seemingly impossible task.

Serkan loses his mind, and asks his employees to NOT help Eda in this endeavour. But people still do. From Engin to Erdan to Melo… Eda has gathered quite a team. Even her not so helping mother-in-law gives a tip or two. Seeing Eda work her way around the challenge was great.

Erkitan, Serkan’s father has taken Melo under his wings and gives her a job in the Holdings–as Selin’s assistant. Now, Melo would be a mole in Selin’s office. I like it. Even though I don’t much care for Melo, I like that she is fiercely loyal to Eds and doesn’t let Serkan and Selin sir close to each other.

This episode was super super fun.

Part 6.3

So, Eda has taken up the impossible task of converting a ruin into a living place with a long list of Do’s and Don’ts. She has some people to help her, and she even gets down expert tips from Eyden but she still fails to do the job. Serkan comes to talk to Mr Fikret and the seemingly impossible project is cancelled.

Eda sits there weeping and looking pretty. Serkan consoles Eda, wipes her tears (sweet) and tells her that one shouldn’t give up until they have given it all.

Then, he brings his team on board.

Now we are talking.

The team gets back together the way they did for creating the paintings and presentations to win a new client. And soon everything looks great. Later at night, Eda asks Serkan about the August 19 day off. To her surprise and to my surprise, Serkan tells her. It was an emotional tale but not too soppy. Long story short, Serkan had an older brother. And his demise is also the reason Eyden doesn’t step out of the house.

So, Eda asked Serkan about the August 19 mystery and Serkan confides about his brother and that he plays guitar on this day to remember his brother. Emotional scene!

Part 6.4

So, Eda asked Serkan about the August 19 mystery and Serkan confides about his brother and that he plays guitar on this day to remember his brother. Emotional scene!

Serkan and Eda fall asleep on the house sofa. Serkan has sweet flashbacks about Eda. Then his watch beeps cause his heart rate is high. That scene was so funny! That watch just wouldn’t shut up. Serkan had to remove it from his wrist. So funny.

The diva (Sajda or Seyda, I didn’t get her name) comes to house and starts whining about everything, EVERYTHING.

“It’s not exactly what I asked for. The concert is off,” she said.

Eda can’t take this. She and her team has worked non-stop for 24 hours, and this diva has attitude that needs fixing. She goes after Seyda and lashes at her. Others can’t interrupt as she has locked the door from outside. Long story short, Seyda changes her mind and is ready for a concert. Fikret is thankful to Serkan but mostly to Eda for doing the impossible!

Eda and Eyden are bonding. After massaging away a headache, Eda leads Eydan outside the gates for the first time. She had noticed earlier that Eyden is scared of going out for some reason. This scene was so beautifully written and executed, I wept like a baby. I loved Seyfi’s reaction when he saw Eda brining Eyden back into the house. Even more emotional was the scene where Seyfi showed the video to Eyden. If this doesn’t change Eyden’s opinion of Eda, I don’t know what will.

Eda has done the impossible, so she convinces Serkan to play guitar for her. Afterwards, they embrace, a silent confirmation that he can trust his inner secrets with her. Selin watches from a distance and we can see that she’s hurt. She thought only she was Serkan’s confidant, but things are changing now.

This episode was so great. Great writing and nice execution. I liked it.
