Aap Ki Izzat Episode 5 Written Update and Review
I forgot to mention four things in last episode.
- Beena to Maa Ji: “Main kyun apna ghar chhor kar jaungi?”
- Maa Ji doesn’t want to attend Tabish’s second marriage.
- “Maa Ji ne kaha thha per pakad kar maafi maang lu, tumhare dil se utar gayi hoon na,” Beena says, gets up and off she goes. Aisi cold maafi, maza aa gaya.
- Maa ji: aurat hoti hi naadaan hai. Tabish: Aur kya? Maa Ji watches with shock. Tabish ne un ko bhi saath mein lapet diya.
The Question
Maulvi asks several questions about the “gunah and taubah” topic. I’ve already given my two cents at the end of episode 4 so won’t repeat it now.
The scene started with a casual “asking for a friend” and goes in a very uncomfortable direction. And she says kufriya kalmaat, in the guise ki uss ki saheli keh rahi hai, but kufriya kalmat is very common in for Umera Ahmed characters. Abhi last week I was cleaning up old screenshots and found a screenshot from a page of Daana Paani (Umera’s last novel IIRC?), something Allah wasayi says in the last episode or something. I have deleted it now but I’ll try to find it.
Long story short, Umera Ahmed writes characters that speak kufriya kalmaat very often and she tries to show us that they are wrong but I think somewhere some damage is being done.
Anywho.
Beena at Maika
Beena comes to see her family. Her brother asks for Tabish, Naushi asks for Tabish… I guess Beena’s existence is importance because of Tabish only, which is so sad.
Beena is in self-doubt, self-pity. #relatable
Aapki yahi baatein sunne aa jati hoon. Mayein bhi bada pyara jhoot bolti hain.
Her mother asks if Beena is regular with namaaz or not. Beena, on the other hand, thinks that despite regular namaz, wazaif, she is NOT happy. See, this thought is what is WRONG. Feeling sad is okay, feeling that even namaz doesn’t help, is NOT okay.
Scene was long, but I won’t cover it all. Long story short, coming back to maika is not an option.
Maa Ji and Daughters
Naziya says Maa Ji shouldn’t attend the wedding, Shaziya says Maa Ji should. Dono opposite ekdum.
Tabish and Naaz
Naaz and Tabish are out for some shopping, and on the way back, Naaz snaps at someone who mentioned “couple hai ya baap beti”, about someone else. Hehe, chor ki dadhi mein tinka. Tabish asks Naaz if she’s bothered by the age-difference.
Naaz: Koi aap ko meri nazar se dekhe.
So she a gold-digger, too?
Maa Ji and Beena
Maa Ji lies to Beena, a prolonged lie about “shaadi” that she and Tabish needs to atend. She then asks Beena to bring her jewellery and chooses a set to gift Naaz. Aakhir us ki nayi bahu hai. Beena reads between the lines. She knows. She KNOWS.
Last Scene
She’s stone-cold when talking to Tabish, apologizes to her sleeping son, and can’t sleep. She brings clothes, shoes, jewellery for Maa Ji.
Maa Ji: Abhi se? Subah nahin honi?
Beena: Kya pata aap ke liye ho, mere liye na ho.
Kya hai iss ke dimagh mein? Nasreen ki tarah ghar se bhagna?
Parting Thoughts
Urwa’s dressing is Ma Sha Allah. So decent, so sober.
