Dar-e-Nijaat Episode 13 Written Update And Review

Z’s Confrontation with Family

“Get out!” Hussain tells Zamil.
Zamil takes his wife to “someplace else”, Nafeesa and Hussain argue with each other while Zaryab constantly tries to get in touch with Zamil. Tired, Zaryab calls Nafeesa.

And the bomb drops.

After a moving shot which made me feel dizzy. Taufeeq and his wife is at the hospital.

~
Zaryab is in Pakistan, and wants to see Zamil only. Habib is rightly upset and doesn’t want Zaryab to even think about Zamil. Waise bhi Zamil is not at his parents’ house, right?

Zaryab doesn’t talk much, but agrees to sleep in Dado’s room.

The one scene with Habib just sulking alone with a teardrop down his cheek was very powerful, all thanks to Farhan Tahir.

Habib has some intuition, I guess, and knows that Zaryab was playing with fire. And that he didn’t do a good job of raising his daughter, sahi ghalat ki tameez nahin sikhayi. I wonder if Shamsa knows.

~

Anxious and restless Zaryab meets Arham, slaps him and blames him for everything that Zamil did. Arham takes it like a man, calmly, not losing his patience. But then he tells the truth, and he can’t convince Zamil to talk to Zaryab.

And then when Zaryab meets Zamil, she’s… crazy. The conversation that transpires is just…painful to listen and watch.

Zamil is not being a good muslim, for sure. He thinks he’s past his J-days. Little does he know J-days are never over. Zamil also thinks that nobody has seen his wife.

Now, the question is, Zaryab sudhregi? Ya abhi bhi waise hi chalegi jaise ki pehle thhi?

Salaam!

Till now i did not understand one thing. okay they are the elite of Pakistan, but as far as I know even the elites are not ok with the way zaryab and zamil were living in Boston. How the heck did they manage to show us something like that? I mean how did the parents agree to it. Nameer khan is awesome as usual a confused insecure person but i cannot wrap my head around zaryab going to Harvard. It takes immense amount of discipline and intelligence to get into Harvard and zaryab is exhibiting the qualities opposite to that since day one. But I am so enjoying this drama and can’t wait for Friday 😁

    1. Assalam Alaikum,
Second of all, long time no see? First of all, how are you?

Yeah, Zaryab’s character is nore of “telling-then-showing” like she just has good grades, and supposedly good at academics (because she promises to look at Zamil’s assignment) but just being brainy doesn’t cut it, does it? Uski subah Zamil se shuru hoti hai aur shaam Zamil pe khatm hoti hai. How she does anything else done is beyond me. But she’s typical UA character, Islam se door lekin bahot shiddat pasand aur (supposedly) bahot zaheen.

Nameer is perfect for the role, kinda tailor-made for him.

I didn’t comment on their living situation (especially since Kishwar Jahan kinda objects on every wrong aspect) but it did bother me. I mean, in India, I’ve seen boy and girl from middle class living together but Pakistan being an Islamic state, thoda zyada laga mujhe. But then… If you follow some celebrity vlogs, hudood ka ta’ayyun nahin hai kahin.

And completely agree with the last comment, abhi toh maze aa rahe hain 😀

Walaikum assalam! 🙂 Alhamdulilah doing good. Work was a little hectic thats y could not comment or read any of ur posts. Catching up now. Hope you’re doing well.
Indian midddle class live that way? 😮 Which city is that? When i came to mumbai in 2021 and we were flat hunting my non muslim batch mates explicitly got warnings from their parents to not even think about live in relationships else they’d skin them alive i heard on the phone. Err regarding umera Ahmed’s romanticisation of this high iq extremist types, sometimes i wonder if she herself fancied a man like salar sikander or abu bakar.. i have read aab e hayat in english and let me tell you i felt as if she was describing all of her fantasies in detail. I mean there was no need to write such a looong book to drive home the point of working in abank or dealing with riba. Whatever . Lets enjoy this one,for some reason i dont feel its going to go downhill but has the fast pacedness of jannat se aage. Can u believe this is the same director of qarz e jaan? No wonder the cinematography feels way too familiar but the writing is obviously not. Enough said. 🙂

        1. Enough said, indeed. Pace is good, given that two bombs have dropped in 13 episodes (Z&Z together, Zamil’s nikaah). They are teasing about Bella’s past, though.

Yeah, that was a shock to me as well. In Pune, some of the freshers who joined with me… And more than one couple… my impressionable mind (Haawwww, hayeee!) couldn’t even fathom the “process”; mind you it was 2006. I did not even know the meaning of the term “live-in” back then, tbh.

Aab-e-Hayaat subject matter was still okay given the strict rules against riba and that it was one of the topics in aakhri khutba. My grouse with both Peer-e-Kaamil and Aab-e-Hayaat, after reading both books 3-4 times, is that it’s a very long romantic story between two unusally (unreal) giving people. Sounds like fantasy, truly. IRL, aisa hota hai kya? Like Imama writes a number, Salaar has exactly that amount in his account. Minimum available balance naam hi chiz nahin hoti hai kya? Idhar toh hoti hai.

And since we’re on the subject, one thing that troubles me and I haven’t discissed with anyone yet, is Imama’s dream of Salaar being inside Kaaba. I feel that some topics should be untouched. Imama ka dream kuch aur bhi ho sakta thha to show how pious they both are. Mujhe abhi bhi khalti hai yeh baat.

          Okay, rant mode ended 🙂
