Doctor Bahu | Episode 2

Dr. Bahu explores the theme of quiet control hidden behind progressive appearances. In a respected family of doctors, their youngest non-doctor son is married to a doctor—adding another accomplished daughter-in-law to a household where women are not allowed to work.

When the youngest daughter-in-law enters this world, she begins to challenge the unspoken rules, subtly shifting power and exposing buried hypocrisies.

Doctor Bahu Episode 2 Written Update and Review

Noting down key events to recap and review later. Enjoy!

Car test drive

Sania and her friend come for a test drive; Sania is planning to buy a car. The salesperson says “no test drive for women”, and Sania just flips out.

Two things to rant about here: I don’t live in Pakistan, or have much information about medical field education related stuff, but I felt like the family was so worried about the one-time FCPS fee despite Sania’s stipend (she must be earning something, right?) and she’s buying a car. Even if on installment, how will she manage the installments?

I didn’t have a very good first impression of this drama, especially Dr Sania. And this scene makes her more bleh, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Toxicity

Doctors family sat down for dinner, not at the dining table, strangely. They all were treating Mina like a napkin, Faizan asks her to make andaa even though she had just sat down for dinner. That scene effectively showed how toxic this family is, and why Salman doesn’t want to bring in a new person to suffer at the hands of these psychos.

Emergency at hospital

Emergency at the hospital as some police van is attacked or something. We see doctors at work; it’s moments like this that make me respect doctors. Most of the time, though, they all look and talk like leeches and just see paisa paisa everywhere.

Families Meet

Finally, the two families meet. Salman has ditched his family at last minute to attend the meeting, and Sania had rushed to the hospital because of the aforementioned emergency. Sania comes in at last minute, though. The doctors’ family get a chance to show off that “we understand what professional ethics is about”. Blah blah blah.

End scene

Salman gets a good reprimand from Farheen about ditching the rishta meeting, and we sense something ominous.

Farheen to Salman: “What will happen to you when I’m gone?”

Oh, she dying? And still treating Mina so poorly?

    Assalamu alaikum
Please review this drama. Episode 6 is also out. I wouldn’t have requested if this drama wasn’t making me giddy with happiness. lol. U won’t believe it but saniyas family is exactly like mine. Loving parents who always supported and educated their daughters but still have to sometimes bow down to the society’s expectations!

    1. Walaikum assalam!

I’ve been meaning to, but time is scarce these days. I’ll try to binge it tonight.

And I can totally understand daughter’s parents and things they do under pressure. Relatable AF.

Don’t you think Sania is a bit too pange-baaz, though?

Yeah a bit melodramatic too! To be honest i feel its lazy writing. From her treating the dog in a hospital, to yelling at the staff in her future in laws hospital. I do not like how she treats her husband too. And salman uff! He seems smitten by her but again his character hasn’t got much depth aside from daddy issues. Very much a desi disney prince lol. Only the future episodes might tell. But i am looking forward to ur review. 😬
