Drama Review | Mere Humsafar | Episode 3

Mere Humsafar is a new ARY Digital drama starring Farhan Saeed and Hania Amir as lead and an ensemble cast.

A little Recap of Episode 2

So, the kids have grown up, but the elders remain the same, like literally the same. We see no difference in Saba Hameed, Sameena Ahmad or Tara Mehmood in terms of their appearance or styling, but the little girl is now Hania Amir, and young Roomi is now Hira Khan.

Even Haala’s circumstances remain just the same. She was tortured when she was a kid, she is tortured now that she is a grown-up girl.

Mere Humsafar Episode 3 Written Update & Review

So, Haala is late from college. Shah Jahan makes an issue out of this, and the same thing drags for half an episode.

Roomi gives Haala pizza to eat, pizza that Sofia and Shah Jahan have ordered for Sameen. Roomi kills two birds with one stone-Sameen doesn’t get the pizza, and Roomi gets humiliated non-stop.

This drama has a pattern. Something happens, Shah Jahan scolds Haala, Haala cries, Haala walks in the lawn, Haala talks to Jalees chachu who I think is the only person who understands and empathizes with Haala. Baqi ki apni ek eent ki masjid hai.

Haala has a good friend, I forget her name. Let’s call her Nida for this review. Her friend laughs a lot, but takes care of Haala. Nida’s brother Khurram likes Haala. Will Haala fall for Khurram’s sweet talk? Or would she wait for Hamza? ahem…

The premise of this drama might be dated, but the characters have some nuance at least. Roomi isn’t outright evil for Haala. She is sweet to her grandmother at times; she knows that Raees would never go against her and she uses this to her advantage. Even Sameen isn’t mean to Haala. But wait till the love triangle is formed. We will ask Sameen if she is still convinced-iss mein  Haala ka kya qusoor?

There was Rumaisa Siddiqui in Ishqiya, and then there is Haala Nafees Ahmad. I’m surprised by Hania Amir’s choices. She looks different, even sounds different. Should I say which character I like best?

Does anyone mix up Roomi and Haala because of Rumi from Ishqiya? No? I guess it’s only me. I had to edit the whole post and replace Roomi with Haala. Talking of ishqiya, ek wo torture thha, ek yeh hai.
