Heer Da Hero Episode 1 Written Update & Review
The first episode are always about the exposition, and that part was done right. You can read most of it in this post:Heer Da Hero | Cast & Characters
We see Heer making tiktok videos and Hero beating up guys. The fight scene was super-slow and super-dramatic and super-loud. Heer makes a video amidst that chaos, and later Hero asks her why she taped him. So, they know each other and ara rivals, just like their families.
Rasheed, Heer’s uncle who is attempting to get married for the 10th time but bride runs away. That also causes a funny altercation, but it seemed forced.
The episode ends as Heer announces about the guy she loves (Hamza), and that he’d be bringing his parents.
Review
Hello, my dear readers! Shabana Mukhtar here, and today I am going to review the first episode of “Heer Da Hero,” a Ramzan 1444 special drama on GEO TV. And let me tell you, I have some mixed feelings about it.
First things first, the drama’s look and cast reminded me of the 2022 Pakistani movie Dum Mustam. And if you’re anything like me, that’s not necessarily a good thing. Don’t get me wrong, the movie might have done well but I had reservations about certain members of the cast and the writer… And unfortunately, the same can be said for “Heer Da Hero.”
My main reservation with the first episode was that it was just too loud and too “out there.” It felt like the writers were trying too hard to be funny and ended up being a bit obnoxious. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a good laugh, but it has to be done right. And in this case, it just didn’t hit the mark.
Another issue I had was with the lead actress, Amar Khan. I know this may sound harsh, but I have never been a fan of her acting. She always seems to be overacting and trying too hard to be dramatic. And unfortunately, this drama was no exception.
The only good thing about “Heer Da Hero” was Imran Ashraf. He is a fantastic actor, and his performance in this drama was no different. However, even he seemed to be in a super-dramatic mode, which was a bit too much for my liking.
The best part was Kashif Mehmood. His lines and his delivery is great.
So, would I recommend “Heer Da Hero”? Well, I’m not sure. I will give it a five-episode test and see if it improves. If not, I will probably move on to something else.
In conclusion, while “Heer Da Hero” has its moments, it falls short in many areas. If you’re a die-hard fan of Pakistani dramas, then you may want to give it a shot. But if you’re like me and prefer something a bit more subtle and nuanced, then this may not be the drama for you.
Until next time, happy watching!
