Mannat Murad | Episode 2

Mannat Murad

Mannat is a beautiful young girl who hails from a progressive family that values love, care, and mutual respect. Raised in an environment where everyone’s choices are respected, Mannat enjoys the freedom to make her own decisions. Following the untimely demise of her parents, she finds support from her elder brother, Nafees, who showers her with affection.

On the other hand, Murad belongs to a conservative family where his mother, the matriarch, wields significant influence over his life choices. As the only son, Murad is burdened with the responsibility of fulfilling his family’s expectations. Soft-spoken and romantic by nature, Murad finds himself unable to defy his mother’s authority, especially after the passing of his father.

Despite their starkly contrasting backgrounds, Mannat and Murad’s hearts find solace in each other’s presence, and they fall deeply in love. However, their families’ interference creates misunderstandings between Mannat and Murad, testing the strength of their bond.

Will their families agree to their union? Will Mannat’s family, with their open-mindedness, find common ground with Murad’s conservative household? Can Mannat and Murad’s love for each other withstand the motives of their families, who seek to create further misunderstandings between them?

Mannat Murad Episode 2 Written Update and Review

Assalam Alaikum, peeps!

Shabana Mukhtar here, to recap and review the first episode of Mannat Murad. Without much further ado, let’s see what happened in this episode.

The Rishta Fiasco

So, after the rishta fiasco, Fazeelat is weeping uncontrollably.

Later, she realizes that Razia’s dictatorship would never let anyone live a happy life.  She talks to Murad, tells him to make a decision for himself and not think of anyone else. I think she makes a good point.

Itrat’s Dilemma

Razia doesn’t like Faisal, and Faisal knows it. He goes to drop-and-pick-up Itrat, but never goes inside the house. Itrat realizes that. Razia wanted Itrat to marry in the family, even if marrying in the family means marrying a gambler like Shaukat Chaudhary and live life in a rut. Itrat now recalls those days.

Itrat: Kehte hain ki apna maarega toh bhi chaon mein rakhega. Woh din aur aaj ka din, maarte ja rahe hain aur chhaon mien rakhte ja rahe hain.

It is as funny as it is painful. Kudos to the writer for writing this line, and Rehma for delivering it so nicely. I also liked Ali’s kinda-superficial reaction of “Sab thik ho jayega” because a cricket match is so much more important than family politics, right?

Mannat Ka Haq

Sabiha, Mannat’s bhabhi, is trying to convince Mannat to not take up a job as she is “chaar bhaiyon ki ikloti behen“, but Mannat is adamant.

Mannat: I have the right to live life on my terms.

Nafees overhears this. Bear in mind that he never married because he wanted to give his attention to Mannat, and that kal ki lakdi is now talking about her rights and whatnot.

But Nafees does allow Mannat to work because laadli jo hai.

~

Now, Razia wants one in a million bahu and incidentally rishta aunty Madam Shamim Ara knows just the girl – Mannat. Despite Murad’s protest, the whole family comes to see Mannat. This episode ends as Nafees shakes hands with Murad.

Aisa lagta kuch comedy hone wali hai.
