Dil Wali Gali Mein | Episode 11

 

Ever since Mujji has left the house and the teachers have bulk-resigned, the trio Durdana-Tamkenat-Ishtiyaq have been bickering constantly. Correction: it’s Tamkenat constantly spitting venom against everyone, Durdana keeping quiet and Ishtiyaq trying his best for a truce.

At one point, Ishtiyaq is like:

What do I have against you?

And Tamkenat says:

Kyunki main moti, bhaddi aur banjh hoon.

Later, in a very heartfelt and beautifully written confrontation between Ishtiyaq and Tamkenat, Ishtiyaq says:

Tum apne alfaaz sunti ho? Nafs bhadde ho jate hain, lehje banjh ho jate hain. Kabhi sunna khud ko.

What a beautiful line! And what a great performance by Saqib bhai.

Mujji spends the night at the godown. It reminded me of that meme:

pakde jaoge ek din

Anwar is against Mujji’s decision to spend the night at the godown but he does bring pillow and bedsheet etc. he’s the second best character after Ishtiyaq, fully loyal and invested in seeing Mujji happy.

Despite both families being the ultimate villain, Mujji and Deeju start looking for a house to rent. They liked the first one but it didn’t work out (know that feeling). The next one is even better. Things look good…

But…

Wait…

The landlord arrives, and our hero and heroine are shocked to see him.

Why?

LOVED IT!

Out of all the 11 episodes, I liked this one the best. There was hope, of things changing, of this stupid AF couple making things work, and I like that.
