Introduction
Saima Akram Chaudhry and Danish Nawaz–the writer and director duo who gave us gems like Chupke Chupke (I quite liked it) and Hum Tum (it was hit-n-miss). This duo now brings us another romantic comedy Kaala Doriya.
Kaala Doriya is story of two families who despise each other. The guy and the girl, especially can’t tolerate each other. When they fall in love, all hell breaks loose. Will they be able to cross the hurdles thrown their way by family or will they power through to come together as one? Watch Kaala Doriya to find out.
Drama Kaala Doriya Episode 5 Written Update and Review
No New Pranks
This episode was surprisingly much less annoying than the previous four, perhaps because Maah Noor was generally well-behaved, and there were no new pranks.
Senti Abba Miyan
Remember Asfi had done some mischief with the main electric supply of Mahnoor’s house. Abba is not too happy about this. So, he goes to talk to Faraz or Asfi, anyone to fix the problem.
“While doing the next prank, remember that we don’t have boys at home to fix the fuse or tyres,” Abba Miyan says to Asfi. Remember this, exam mein aayega.
While at Muneer’s house, Abba Miyan also meets his wife Tabassum Begum and daughter Bitto. Fun little conversation they have. Long story short, Bitto goes with Abba Miyan to live with Shuja’s family. This is despite the fact that Tanno is too bitter, too rude, and is the reason behind Bitto’s unrequited love. Needless to say, Tanno ain’t happy.
Asfi the Hero
In the college, Asfi sees Mahnoor struggling with her car. He decides to help her. Guess why? Yes, you guessed it right. Because he recalls Abba Miyan’s senti one liner. Bas phir, he checks Mahnoor’s car, escorts her to the garage, pays for the battery replacement (with Faraz’s money).
You see where this is headed, right?
Ladka pighal Raha hai.
Alright, here comes the rant.
And that’s what I hate about this episode. Just because Mahnoor is a girl and Abba Miyan is senti, Asfi is all nice. Maybe he is all nice, but does Mahnoor deserve this? If their parents have fought, it doesn’t mean they keep bickering with each other. They can just be aloof of the other person, you know, just ignore? But no. These two go to all lengths to make the other suffer, and we are to believe that this is oh-so-funny. Mahnoor is still all catty while Asfi is being nice, this reminds me, yet again of the last Saima Akram Chaudhry drama Hum Tum. Neha Qutbuddin knew no limits while being mean to Adam and yet Adam tell for Neha. History repeats itself here. Come to think of it, Chaudhry and Sons also had a similar track where Billu fell for Parisa first. But there equation was dealt with so beautifully that nobody minded that.
Rant over.
The Anniversary Party
Asfi is planning for an anniversary party for Nida and Faraz. The party goes well whole Abba Miyan and Bitto enjoy it from the adjacent terrace. Muneer’s arrest. While everyone is worried including Abba Miyan and Bitto, Mahnoor says:
Achha hi hua.
Abba Miyan admonishes her. Remember her words, though. Exam mein aayega.
Why Muneer is arrested, we will know in the next episode. Relax.
Random Note
This review is a week too late. I had just come home last Friday and spent the night talking to Munni (read this reviewthis review for more of that night). I watched the fifth episode on Sunday and wrote all of two sentences as review on Monday morning. And then came this Friday (yesterday) with episode 6. Now it’s almost 2:30 as I draft this. Am I lazy or what?
Off to review episode 6.
