Qarz-e-Jaan Episode 26 Written Update and Review

Bisma’s Worries and Nashwa’s Optimism

Alright, so now the cat’s out, Nashwa is sitting with her mother and trying to console her. Nashwa thinks that getting Bisma married was worth the deal she had with Bakhtiar (marrying the criminal Ammaar). Bisma, on the other hand things that measures decision to marry Ammaar has ruined everything.
EVERYTHING.
Nashwa smartly changes the subject, saying she has always wanted her mother to be strong and assertive as Bisma was being.
This picture above is her looking at her mother adoringly.
Bisma says that Bakhtiar and Barkat have no regards for anyone’s emotions, no respect for their own promises but Nashwa is confident that they wouldn’t dare do anything wrong to her (just you wait, sis). Some may have found it emotional, I found the scene a bit too dramatic.
Also, I was wondering, didn’t Bisma sign some papers for transferring her “property” to Bakhtiar instead of Nashwa? Did she have more? Just how rich was Behzad?
I liked how Asim quickly wrapped the janamaz picked it up and left. Bisma had just left it there. It’s km the non-verbal scenes that this drama does most of its magic. This small scene, moment, rather, was one of them.
Asim then goes to Burhan zone and tells and that Bisma is a changed women now and they may be able to get out of the Nikah by filing for a khula . This man is quite innocent. Just because he was finally able to marry the love of his life, he thinks that things were will work out with Burhan as well.

Burhan’s Questions and Nashwa’s Clarifications

Burhan than talks to Nashwa demand answers to questions like:
  1. why did she do it?
  2. why did she not consult anyone?
  3. how could she take such a big decision by herself?

Nashwa listens to the questions with tears in her eyes.

The two sit together and talk because apparently Nashwa owes an explanation to Burhan? I don’t understand Nashwa. She is a conflicted character. She says: I never had feelings for you or committed anything to you, phir itna bhao kyu de rahi hai Burhan ko? Dafa kar!

Nashwa slowly tells him everything and we have bits and pieces of flashback scenes showing her nikaah, her conversation with Bakhtiar, how she was pressured to not just marry Ammaar but also continue with the nikaah else he would kill Asim in a car accident.

And Ammaar looking at his wife for the first time.
And would be a time to rant. I understand that Burhan likes Nashwa, and that she may also have had feelings for Burhan, even though I fail to see Burhan as a good prospect (neither is Ammaar, I’m not rooting for him, either). Burhan is a creep and his feelings were mostly one-sided (and it doesn’t help that Osama m’s portrayal of angry, dejected, rejected lover was not convincing enough). At least earlier he had a benefit of doubt, he didn’t know Nashwa’s situation.
Now, he does.
Phir yeh hath pakad ke izhaar e mohabbat kyun?
And why did Nashwa “let” him? She hangs out with a criminal, she let’s another man confess his feelings for her even though she’s married to another man; and the third face in the love triangle is a criminal. What kind of protagonists are we showing? Ammaar is the clear villain but the other two have not-so-clear motives and conscience.

Beenish’s Concerns

Is it just me or do others also feel s change in Ammaar’s demeanor since the nikaah?
Beenish, the only voice of reason comes to talk to Nashwa.
As the two talk, Beenish catches Nashwa’s lies while Ammaar listens to the whole conversation, sometimes rolling eyes, sometimes with interest…
…and when it gets too much to handle, he interrupts the conversation.
Yes, he evedrops and he interrupts the conversation. Come on, he has no moral compass. Haven’t we established that already?
He talks about his reasons to stay married to Nashwa: he can’t give up the luxurious life his father’s money offers. And then he leaves, the two women are speechless.

What s crisp episode! I mean, I don’t like Burhan and even disagree with Nashwa’s decisions in this episode, but direction wise it was almost perfect.
