Qarz-e-Jaan Episode 4 Written Update and Review

Like all other episodes, this one was fast paced and action filled so quick summary here.

Nashwa’s first day at work

Nashwa frees some birds on the way to Burhan Associates.
Burhan sees her, smiles and on his way. I liked how carefully he removed his shades and put them back on.
Nashwa meets her friends Sana and Asra, and another intern Mohid. The debate sparks about the reason for marriage and equality. Mohid says the marriage is to get good food. Sana says good companionship. Nobody talks about the real reason and the qualities to look for in a wife: tazawwajul wadood al walood. Shaadi ka maqsad nasl konaage badhana hai.
Burhan overhears the conversation, interrupts and asks Nashwa to see him. A goon of politician slash businessman Chaudhary Shafiq comes to threaten Burhan. This guy:
Whether it was a stunt to scare Nashwa or was it for real? We don’t know that yet.
During the conversation, argument and counter argument, Burhan said a few things that I my non-feminist self sound objectionable. Dikhne mein toh bahot progressive hai. Long story short, Nashwa gets a file to study. Burhan teaches her to think rationally and not emotionally. Good lesson.
I didn’t like how Sana, Asra and even Mohid teased Nashwa about Burhan. Kafi cheap laga.
Sana gets a call from her friend Saba and learns about Maheen.

Maheen’s statement

Maheen is awake and the police wants to take her statement. Maheen’s sister refuses it. Maheen goes ahead with the statement nonetheless. Just as she announces the identity of her boyfriend, Sana enters.
Uska naam Ammaar Bakhtiar hai, of Bakhtiar Constructions.
That was the end of the episode. Let’s step back a little.

Ammaar’s plight

So, after Maheen’s episode, Ammaar comes home and runs into Nashwa, right. The next day, he wakes up like this:

No wonder people are shipping Nashwa and Ammaar. He does look good, kinda reminds me of Hashim Kardar and Nausherwan Kardar from Namal (Nemrah Ahmed). Hashim was handsome and lethal, Nausherwan was weak and addict. Put them in a bowl, shake it well, and you get Ammaar Bakhtiar.
Bakhtiar is doing some illegal construction without permit and there has been a mishap. He plays his card right to avoid a big tamasha but Ammaar is worried AF when he hears the word: police.
Sameer tells Ammaar that maheen’s family is from Gilgit. They talk some more.

My take on Ammaar so far

Now, I’m not saying that Ammaar is an angel. He drinks, he smokes, but I think he really was fast asleep and it was Sameer and others who did “ziyadati” with Maheen. At least that’s how the story is told to us. Love the writing. Very crisp.
