Pehli Barish Episode 40 Written Update and Review

Sania and Naveeda try to convince Nimra for Mohid. Maani and Nawal talk about their respective heartbreaks. One scene makes me puke while the other one warms my heart.

Zehra comes to see Nimra, realizing all of her sins, her lies. But how could Maani believe what others said and not believe in Nimra’s love.

I didn’t like the pleading and begging Zehra did. I never like when older people are shown to be pleading, no matter how wrong they were. It’s like… I can understand if they realize their mistakes and apologize and make amends but haath jod ke gidgidana thoda zyada lagta hai.

New character Faraz, Behzad’s friend makes a surprise entry. He asks for tea, not coffee and I mentally patted his back for his good choice. He gets to talking, and reveals what he knows about Maleeha: I saw her in the hospital. Her chemo has started.

And Behzad nearly collapses.

Now, he’s heading to Lahore to get Maleeha, and this time, Zehra is praying for him.

Aaquib, Sania, Naveeda all try to convince Nimra for Mohid; Aaquib resorts to threats, and history repeats itself. Years ago, Hashir threatened to divorce Naveeda to stop Maleeha from marrying Behzad. Now, Aaquib threatens to divorce Sania to stop Nimra from marrying Maani. Uff Allah!

Naveeda doesn’t like this one bit. She still recalls the pain she and Maleeha both endured that day.

Mohid’s to the rescue of this lovelorn couple, not wanting to come in the middle of two people.

Mohid: “Mohabbat ka matlab sirf haasil karna nahin hota”.
Nawal: “Kuch ghanton baad mera aur Nimra ka nikaah hai. Maani ko le kar aa jaiyega.”

Loved that Nawal showed what it means to be a good friend. Loved that strangers like Mohid and Tehmeena support Nimra and Maani while Nimra’s own father is against it all.

Nikaah is postponed. Behzad ke aane tak.
