Introduction
Pehli Barish is a story of love that spans generations, a tale of joy, longing, and heartbreak that seems to repeat itself.
Years ago in Lahore, strangers Behzad and Maleeha met and a spark of love lit between them. But fate had other plans and tore them apart, leaving hearts scarred.
Decades later, Behzad lives a settled life with a family, yet the past never truly leaves him. His son, Maani, falls for Nimra and the shadows of old heartbreak loom large. As Behzad watches history threatening to repeat itself, he must face his own past to protect Maani and perhaps confront the love he lost long ago.
Will Maleeha return to Behzad’s life? Will Behzad save his son from the same heartbreak he experienced? Can Maani and Nimra’s love win against all odds?

Pehli Barish Episode 9 Written Update and Review
(Re-posting because yesterday when I scheduled the post, I hadn’t noted all my thoughts.)
Hashir’s Outburst
Hashir screams at Naveeda, but this time Naveeda also says some bitter truths.
Aap ne Nimra ko Maleeha ki godi mein daal diya thha kyunki woh chauthi beti thhi.
Hashir screams to win the argument, because increasing volume is a sure-shot way of winning a verbal battle, right?
The Selfish Game
Naveeda and Sania come to talk to Maleeha and Nimra respectively. While I liked how the parallel conversation was written to overlap (one of my favourites).
Here’s the deal: Mohid’s father Faraz is kinda business partner with Hashir… or somehow business-related such that if Faraz isn’t happy with Hashir, Hashir’s business will go down. Sania is engaged to Mohid’s cousin (forgot his name already). So, basically, Naveeda is asking Maleeha to agree to Nimra-Mohid alliance because of Hashir’s business, and Sania is asking Nimra to agree to Nimra-Mohid alliance because if it doesn’t happen, Sania’s own marriage will be in danger. No, they don’t think they are doing anything wrong or being selfish. On the contrary, Sania thinks that Nimra is being selfish.
Maleeha puts her foot down, so does Nimra. Naveeda and Sania curse the other mother-daughter duo and leave.
Later, Hashir comes to threathen Maleeha. Adnan Jafar at his villainous best but so ugly to watch.
Patch up
Maani and Zehra come to Nawal’s house. I don’t understand why they visit each other so often. I mean, they live nearby for sure. And at least visit each other at least twice a day, kabhi Ruby chali aa rahi hai, kabhi Nawal, kabhi Hamza toh kabhi Dania. Aur kabhi Maani un ke ghar pahuncha hua hai. Woh suna nahin hai:
Qadr kho deta hai har roz ka aana jaana
But one good thing is Maani apologizes to Nawal for being so rude, she forgives him and they are friends again. So far so good? But wait… Now, Nawal thinks that since they are friends again, other things will also be in-line soon.
The Uni
Okay, so Nawal and Maani are back to being the besties now. Nawal asks Maani to treat her to lunch. Nimra wants to say something to Maani (with a rose, no less), but he’s sitting with Nawal so she takes an about-turn. Tell me one thing: is it common for people in college to talk with a rose in their hands? Maine toh kabhi nahin dekha but then it was a different era. Still this century, but very different times.
Just as Nimra is about to confess something to Maani, her phone rings and of course taking the call is more important, so she does. Sania on the other side, who threatens to commit suicide if she can’t marry whats-his-name. Seriously, what’s his name? Why didn’t I remember it after 18 hours? Is my memory failing me?
I guess that was all. Off to episode 10. I don’t think I have any Sunday drama lined up after missing darling. Perhaps I need to google a little and find something.
