Sirf Shabana presents the story of an educated, independent yet deeply sensitive young woman who longs for a simple but powerful right: to have her own name stand alone, without being defined by a father or a husband. Her journey unfolds as a courageous fight against societal norms, legal barriers, and emotional struggles, as she strives to claim an identity that truly belongs to her.

Sirf Shabana Episode 12 Written Update and Review
The apartment Shabana has moved in, it’s crappy. The electricity connection is not working, pani kadwa hai, and the main door’s lock got stuck and Shabana is stuck inside with no drinking water. Imagine if the washroom door was locked and she was inside? Yikes! I’m an expert in thinking worst case scenarios. To top it, the building security guy constantly keeps saying that “this locality isn’t safe for a single woman”.
I know the story is going in the direction that Shabana would be forced to either move back in Kabeer’s apartment, but this shitty apartment should not have been “the reason”.
Anywho, good samaritan (or just because he has a selfish motive) has parked outside the building, making calls, talking to security guy, making arrangements for Shabana’s accomodation in a private (pricey) hostel which Kabeer would pay for. Ashfaq comes to pick up Shabana. And she spots Kabeer’s car.
Aur phir “tamasha dekh tamasha”. The expression on her face just won my heart.

Kabeer: i can’t let you live here because you’ve moved her because of meShabana: yeh kaunsa aapka imaginary guilt hai that you’ve? I didn’t come here because of you.
Loved her stance and totally agree with her point of view but also sense things will change, soon.
By the way, at this point, I couldn’t help but wonder: why is Kabeer there? Just sitting in his car. Uski dadi marne wali thhi na? Mari nahin ab tak? Shaadi karwane tak baar baar bimar hona hai dadi ne.

The love confession came out of nowhere. Kinda seems like insta love, even though they have known each other a few days and he has helped her a lot. Mohabbat hone wali toh baat nahin thhi. And that’s exactly what Shabana says (smart writing there).
And the baws move was to NOT move to the hostel Kabeer arranged for.
I called you Bhai. If you want to help me, find a good apartment within my budget. Says Shabana to Ashfaq.
Shabana joins her new office. Her bosses are good, subordinates are not (unlike my team which is a living example of har shaakh pe ullu). Shabana has been warned to be strict with her staff. First point went to Shabana when she politely her firmly asked Hira to come and meet her, and that “agar Sami ne hi kaam karna hai toh might as well give your salary to him”.
Nusrat has started referring to Bano as “Bilal ki Maa” which is such a welcome change for Bilal. I’m including this because I liked the frame.

Bilal has an interview with a vlogger. The host was nice, cameraman (who was just holding a camera phone and had an attitude of award-winning director) was not. Just as they were about to leave, Tara opened a thick book (kahan se aayi) and read a verse. Interview is still on.

Kabeer and Dadi talk: blah, blah blah. Blah blah blah, blah blah. In short, she was like: why did you lie about being married to Shabana? I would have understood that you’re being kind and helping.
What the??? Dadi, you were singing a different tune all this while.
And that’s the episode. For some reason, my cough is back and I don’t think I’d be able to sleep today.
