Dr. Bahu explores the theme of quiet control hidden behind progressive appearances. In a respected family of doctors, their youngest non-doctor son is married to a doctor—adding another accomplished daughter-in-law to a household where women are not allowed to work.
When the youngest daughter-in-law enters this world, she begins to challenge the unspoken rules, subtly shifting power and exposing buried hypocrisies.

Doctor Bahu Episode 9 Written Update and Review
The confrontations continue.
Shahnawaz tells Mina that
They’ll go out of Pakistan after a fake pregnancy news, adopt a child, and come back to announce the kid as their own. It will give them (Faizan and Mina) a chance to bond, away from Ambar. He also pretends to be gentle and kind and offers Mina to head one of the three maternity hospitals he’s planning to open. Wow! Talk about controlling someone with treats. Mina is so in shock that now she thinks Shahnawaz can do no wrong.
At the dinner table, the talk is initially just about how women are expected to keep an eye on the plates of men and keep checking if they need anything. I think it’s good to offer someone something before they ask for it especially at dsstarkhwan but not the way this family expects. Our pange-baaz heroine doesn’t hesitate to say it’s wrong. Conversation drifts to Sania’s residency and escalates to an argument when Sania doesn’t back down. Mina politely asks Sania to stop, Farheen and Faizan are clearly in disdain, Shahnawaz is throwing insults at Sania left, right and center. But our girl keeps her stance. Farheen finally sends Sania to her room.
In her room, she can’t be alone. Shahnawaz comes there, pressures her some more and finally threatens to cancel her license.
Mera ghar, meri marzi.
So I guess Salman will offer to live separately?
That’s not all. Shahnawaz has suddenly turned cold towards Mina as well and Mina can’t help but be upset at Sania for ruining everything for her.
Next morning, in the kitchen there’s a long tu tu main main between devrani jethani.
At breakfast table, then, Salman argues with Shahnawaz.
Meri biwi ko control karne ko koshish mat karna.
I think it might come to manhandling in the next episode. Kinda excited to see that.
In this episode, I didn’t feel like Sania did anything wrong but she does sound weak. Would she be able to fight a man of Shahnawaz’s stature? What if her license is indeed cancelled? Haw!
