Mitti De Baway Episode 2 Written Update and Review

I know the post for episode 1 was a bit more detailed. Although I strive to be detailed in every post, I can’t promise the same. If my interest in a drama drops, I either shut up or start rambling on and on and on. This drama might fall in the first category. For some reason, I always type “cateogry” instead of “category”. What’s that about?

So, remember the phadda between Joji and an elderly goon? The goons works for Sarkar.

Bhai ko rakhwane aaya hai dere pe? Suna hai badi badmashiyan badh rahi hain.

And then Sarkar orders to bring Joji and the other brother who’s studying law to dera for this “ghulaami”.

I like this scene. It shows how those who have power exploit others, others who opt for peace not because they are weak but because they are shareef. But people like Sarkar taunt, tease, instigate. Sarkar was mean, and Iqbal remained humble (to the point of being a wuss but that was his strategy). His gaze tells it all but his words are in contrast. While everyone at the dera consider Iqbal the most shareef insaan of the nieghbourhood, Sarkar has some other opinion.

Is ke andar ek badmaash hai jise yeh chhupata hai. Badi bebaak aankhein hain is ki.

After this, Iqbal goes to meet Bilqees…because why not…

And then we see the flashback. Not a flashback actually, another time shift. So from 1999 to 1996 to I gues 1986? I’m not sure if they showed time. I’ll not delve into the details. The first meeting was a very nicely written and shot.

Just like previous episode, tiny moments and expressions are very nicely captured. I LOVED Samia Mumtaz’s expression when PhaataaN realized the “setting”.

Both Bilqees and Iqbal bribe PhaataaN, Bilqees with money and makeup; Baala with murghi from his house. The episode ends as Baala is readying to meet Bilqees without any concerns about his coughing mother but the surma salayi falls from his hand when his mother vomits blood.

Oooh! Shit got real.

Review

The casting of Aena Khan as young Bilqees is apt, waise hi hont hain dono ke aur dono utna hi annoying hain dono Mahira Khan aur Aena Khan.

I liked the vast lands, greenery, narrow lanes of flashback.
