Yunhi Episode 16 Written Update & Review
Assalam Alaikum, fellow drama lovers! It’s time for another recap and review of the latest episode of “Yunhi”. And let me tell you, this drama is getting better and better.
Mudassar’s Sh*t
So, it’s the time for Suraiya and Hamid’s nikaah. Mudassar has a lot of conditions, and he spits venom like a volcano. He talks shit about everyone.
- He criticizes Kim for her unwillingness to accept injustice.
- …does Suraiya’s character shaming
- …he accuses dawood’s for marrying Kim only for uS visa
- …and Basharat for keeping all the dollars nad not telling anyone.
Abba ji has had enough. He asks Mudassar to leave.
Abba Ji:I did a mistake to marry one daughter in your family. Won’t do this again.
Haw!
By the way, maza aa gaya. I had not expected Abba Ji to do anything right. Way to go, grandpa.

Husna’s heroism
First of all, can I just say I love her? Whatta character!
Oblivious to these arguments, Husna talks to Suraiya and that she should have refused to marry Hamid. Husna also goes on to say that she would not marry daniyal. It was her immature brain that has accepted elder’s wish as her fate
She is confident that nobody could force her. I love her strength.
Later, she also convinces Suraiya to put on some makeup. Iqbal comes to break the news:
Iqbal: No need to do the makeup the nikaah is called off.
Suraiya is relieved because she never really wanted to marry Hamid, and at the same time she is hurt because of all the drama it will cause. Maha Hassan does a fine job of depicting that confusion. Loved that scene!

Kim’s reaction
Kim has negative opinion about everyone:
- Basharat uncle took my dad’s money,
- Dawood wants to use ke for getting a visa.
- Everyone is evil and only I’m a saint.
You get the drift.
Later, Basharat comes clean and tells everyone why he didn’t give the 50k dollars to Kim–because where would they keep all the money? He still gives all the money to Kim, minus the money he took for buying Kim’s laptop, along with receipt and all.
There is another confusion Kim has about Dawood. For one, that he isn’t happy with her. Dawood has fitting reply for it:
Dawood: How could I be happy if you aren’t happy.
As for the second accusation, Dawood replies to that, too.
Kim: You married me for US visa.
Dawood: If I needed to go to US, I would have done it the other way, not used you (he talked about a long process of doing so. I was doing the dishes so couldn’t take notes)
And just like that, Kim’s confusion is clear. I guess I can understand her confusion. Yesterday, I made a life-altering decision and spent the day and night crying because I knew it wouldn’t make me happy. And today morning, I was like: nah, not gonna do that. Kim has the same confusion. And that makes her so real.
Father-Daughter bonding
Basharat and Suraiya offer namaz and the scene moves from one to other showing both at their most vulnerable state. After the namaz, Basharat goes to talk to Suraiya… Suraiya apologizes to Yeh pyaz kaun kaat raha hai? Khamkha aankhon mein aansoo aa rahe hain.
Basharat: Let me be the father in which you can confide. Tell me whatver you want.
Suraiya: I want to study.
Basharat: Whatever you want, I’m with you.
Behroz Sabzwari generally plays a jolly guy or a villian. In this character of a supportive and sweet father, he has played the sensitivity of a father so well. And we have already established that Maha Hassan is the secret superstar of this drama.
That’s my take on the episode. What did you think of this episode?
