Aasmanon Pe Likha Episode 1 Written Update, Recap and Review
Poor Dad
We see Zaheer’s family. His elder daughter Qudsiya is getting married. The middle one, Afiya is short tempered and doesn’t take shit from anyone. Sobia also has quite a mouth on her. Zaheer Bringing vards to his colleagues. Abda is preparing dowry for Qudsiya’s wedding. Qudsiya’s future mother-in-law Haleema keeps calling Abda and demands more stuff-generator, car, whatnot. Nobody is happy about the wedding as they realize that the in-laws are greedy and rude but it’s too late now.
Rich Son
Zaheer brings the card to his boss’s son Aliyan. Aliyan is a sympathetic man who can’t tolerate shitty things around him. For him, company’s reputation is of utmost importance.
“Money is never an issue, my repuration is,” he says to someone on the phone.
However, while talking to Zaheer, he puts his foot down and rejects the loan request. Is money a problem now? Or is that contradiction just the inciting incident?
I guess we wait for the next episode for the big and cliched “hum baraat wapas le kar ja rahe hain” moment.
Review
As I settled in to review “Aasmanon Pe Likha,” I couldn’t help but feel that the main purpose of watching this drama wasn’t to criticize it but rather to have something playing in the background, a comforting distraction from the ever-present noise in my head. It’s not that I didn’t expect the drama to have its merits; it’s just that sometimes, you need a storyline that can provide solace amidst the chaos of your thoughts.
The first episode of “Aasmanon Pe Likha” does a commendable job of exposition. It gently introduces us to the world of its characters, setting the stage for what promises to be an emotionally charged narrative. The initial moments are like the first brushstrokes on a canvas, hinting at the broader picture that’s about to unfold.
One aspect that struck me, and perhaps this is a testament to the writing and storytelling, is the drama’s unapologetic focus on the ugly reality of dowry in our society. It’s a topic that has been explored in numerous Pakistani dramas before, yet it continues to be a pressing issue that deserves our attention. “Aasmanon Pe Likha” doesn’t shy away from shedding light on this social dilemma. It serves as a reminder that while we may have come a long way in many aspects, there are certain deep-seated issues that persist, silently corroding the fabric of our society.
The drama’s portrayal of this issue is both engaging and thought-provoking. It brings forth the harsh consequences of a practice that should have long been eradicated but still thrives in the shadows. The characters and their dilemmas are a reflection of the real-life struggles faced by many individuals and families.
As a reviewer and a blogger, I appreciate when a drama doesn’t merely entertain but also serves as a mirror to society. “Aasmanon Pe Likha” has the potential to be one of those dramas that spark conversations and compel us to ponder the societal norms and values we’ve accepted without question. It’s a fine addition to the realm of Pakistani dramas, and I look forward to delving deeper into its narrative as it unfolds.
While I continue to watch “Aasmanon Pe Likha,” it’s not just about reviewing it; it’s about connecting with the issues it raises, hoping that in some way, its storytelling can be a catalyst for change, no matter how small.
