Today’s prompt, I kid you not, demands an interview. Yes, you heard me correctly, an interview. As if my meticulously crafted cocoon of words wasn’t sanctuary enough, now I must weave in the threads of conversation. And so, I begrudgingly stepped out of my writerly solitude, dusted off my social skills (which had clearly been hibernating), and embarked on this adventure.

Now, when faced with such a monumental task at short notice, I could think of only one person to bring into this whirlwind of literary exploration—my dear younger sister, Shaheda. Why, you ask? Well, apart from the undeniable genetic connection, we share a bond forged in the fiery furnace of mutual literary critique. Our discerning eyes spare nothing, especially not our own reflections in the writing mirror.

So, without further ado, allow me to introduce my partner-in-critique, Shaheda. We’re diving headfirst into the abyss of Urdu novels, armed with our sarcasm, our wit, and our shared love for all things written. But, as they say, genetics can be a bit of a lottery, right? I’m your host, Shabana Mukhtar, and with me is the one and only, the enigmatic, the incredibly sarcastic, Shaheda.
