Drama Review | Qissa Meherbano Ka | Episode 4

Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka. It’s based on Fakhra Jabeen’s short story Ujalon Ki Basti. You can read the story here, and my review is here. The drama is quite different from the story itself, so don’t be disheartened by my review even if it has some spoilers.

Qissa Meherbano Ka is a new Hum TV series that started airing on 28th August, 2021.

The first episode had me sufficiently intrigued, and I’ve decided to give this drama a go. Here’s me with my review-slash-rant about the second episode.

Qissa Mehrbano Ka Episode 4 Written Review

So, Mehran talks to professor Asghar Ali Mehtab, and the duo talk about Mehrbano’s future.

And cuts to flashback. We see Murad’s mother screaming at Mehrbano’s parents. Professor takes full responsibility of the whole incident (Atif divorcing Afiya). In a weak moment, professor had promised that Mehrbano will never ask for a divorce. Not just any promise. Quran ki qasam…

I like how the drama highlights that qasam is only of Allah, not of anyone or anything else. Also, we see Mehrbano talk about the importance of Shari’ah based distribution of assets among all heirs. Love it. We need such subtle positive messages.

Ayaz is shown to be a righteous rowdy young man but gets wrongfully embroiled into shit. He isn’t welcome in his Nani’s house.

Professor has written to Murad’s mother. That letter has opened a new can of worms in Murad’s life. Do check my post that reveals the whole story of this drama.

The episode ends as Murad comes to Mehrbano’s house and runs into Mehran. Haw!

Parting Thoughts

Zaviyar is handsome. There is no denying that. And the boy acts well. Mohammad Ahmed is superb as usual.
