The eighth episode is live. This episode has mostly confrontations and arguments between Qalb-e-Momin & Abdul Alaa. Qalb-e-Momin challenges him that he will make a hit movie on spirituality, that will bring people closer to Allah.

So, Renuka (the casting director) comes to inform Momina that her role is getting upgraded. Momina refuses to do intimate scenes.
Momina is back from her first schedule. She meets Aqsa to repay her debt. We see her cribbing about her life. She goes to the graveyard, talks to Jehangir.
She comes back home to find Faisal and his mother. They are here with his proposal, and Suraiyya lies through her teeth to make fabricated stories that Momina has left acting jobs etc. Faisal’s mother insults them openly but Momina cannot do or say anything.
Whilst Suraiyya is happy for Momina, she still misses Jehangir. Suraiyya and Sultan are ecstatic, making plans for her future – how she should dress, when and how she should visit them and general khayali pulao stuff.
Aqsa comes home to congratulate Momina. She casually mentions Qalb-e-Momin but Momina just flips out. Qalb-e-Momin is the one person she hates and wishes bad luck for.
Momina and Faisal go out for a date and he asks her to leave her profession. She says no and the engagement is off.

Qalb-e-Momin is seen talking to Tina over phone. He is abusing Akhtar and enjoying Ahsan’s movie’s bad opening. He is being the part of the business. I guess that is how the showbiz works.
The immediate next scene shows Qalb-e-Momin reminiscing Abdul Alaa’s words. I don’t think that was needed. We just heard those words. It made the scene drag a bit.
An aggravated Qalb-e-Momin challenges Abdul Alaa that he will make a movie that touches souls and brings Insaan closer to Allah (and Alif, the connection between Allah and Insaan). Qalb-e-Momin is just a person who has a pile of misinterpreted thoughts and facts and he is too arrogant to see it.
But their hug before they part makes you go ‘awnnn’.
Daud and Qalb-e-Momin are watching the rushes of some movie when Qalb-e-Momin announces that he is postponing the current movie to make a film on spirituality (Roohaniyat, Daud searches on Google).
I like the authenticity that she’s shown kneading the dough. The parat is soiled in floor. AUTHENTIC!
Lekin behn, Kitna aata goondha hai? There are only three of you. Okay, maybe you want to save some for the next day.
There are no bad actors in this cast, but Saleem Mairaj steals the show with his performance in this episode. Just look at the scene when Sultan gets up to get cold drinks. The way he walks, the slight limp.
The scene where the casting director talks about extending Momina’s role in the movie was more detailed. I don’t remember these scenes being part of the book, not in as much details for sure. Similarly, the conversation between Qalb-e-Momin and Abdul Alaa are more elaborate.
Umera’s words weave its magic around you, just the way it did in the novel. The difference from novel’s plot makes me wonder if the story line or the end will differ from that of the novel. It would be lovely to see a happy ending of this story, wouldn’t it?
