Abu Bakar’s Track
Khushbakht: Tum
Abu Bakar: Main aisa nahin karunga. Maine gunah nahin kiya toh nahin kiya.
Abu Bakar takes Hamna to “deal” with her.
Hamna lowering her head in front of Khushbakht until she gave her blessings. I liked Khushbakht’s hesitation, but she relented, perhaps seeing herself in Hamna?
Khushbakht and Abu Bakar talk. Abu Bakar has taken Hamna to her family, even though they could harm her. This WAS the solution.
Zaryab’s Track
Zamil doesn’t tell Zaryab where he went, what he did in the name of privacy. He was with Arham, doing some hunting.
Arham and Zamil went for Tableegh. My mind blew off. Zamil is looking for peace and probably a simple and correct life. Zaryab doesn’t even understand what a phenomenal change that was. She even has the audacity to laugh at Arham. Arham seems like a nice guy, by the way.
Zamil and Zaryab argue over it. Zamil understands the lopsided nature of his life and that… he wants to be a practicing muslim because he wants to be likable and at peace.
I felt that Zamil is still conflicted but I see potential in him. Just looking towards the path of righteousness brings you a step closer to the path of righteousness.
Zaryab and her typical shitty things about Islam, namaz etc. She tells Dadi about Zamil and his tableegh. I didn’t like that Dadi also judged Zamil. Whatever he did for Islam, at least he did something.
Flashback
When cleaning Abu Bakar’s room, Khushbakht finds a love journal, basically something Hamna prepared with ohotos of her own and Abu Bakar. It reminds Khushbakht of her own youth, and she breaks down uncontrollably (excellent weeping by Sania Saeed).
The Accommodation Problem
She calls Abu Bakar’s house and asks if there was a guest. I don’t think Aby Bakar likes that his mother didn’t believe him when he said Hamna isn’t with him. Tch… Kaisi bey-aitabari
Shuja has arranged for Zaryab and Zamil’s accomodation in Boston, USA. Zamil -> Zaryab -> Faryal -> Shuja -> Beenish -> Abu Bakar -> Taufeeq, his friend in USA. Main to sun kar hi thak gayi.
Long story short, Zaryab and Abu Bakar text. Zaryab says she and her friend want to stay together so they would need a 2 bedroom apartment. Abu Bakar asks for their details and is shocked to see the response.
