Dr. Bahu explores the theme of quiet control hidden behind progressive appearances. In a respected family of doctors, their youngest non-doctor son is married to a doctor—adding another accomplished daughter-in-law to a household where women are not allowed to work.
When the youngest daughter-in-law enters this world, she begins to challenge the unspoken rules, subtly shifting power and exposing buried hypocrisies.

Doctor Bahu Episode 18 Written Update and Review
This episode was fast-paced, a lot happened, story moved forward at break-neck speed, and… Generally, its a good thing, but for some reason, I hated it. Here’s a recap of the epsiode (alongwith my rant on the same, of course).
- Zara died. Inna Lillahi…
- Her husband Inaam called Kubra and says Faheem is taking the news to a channel.
- Saniya freaks out.
- Zainab and Riyaz try to tell Saniya to not give them any reason to be embarassed again. Saeeda interferes, but Zainab snaps at Saeeda, too. Even Riyaz takes Zainab’s side. Needless to say, I’m team Saeeda.
- At hospital, Dr Shahnawaz is suddenly a good dad, explains what he was against Faryal, and that’s he feels proud of Salman’s achievements etc. Salman rightly refutes by saying, “too late for the pep-talk”.
- Dr Shahnawaz then takes the credit for choosing Saniya for Salman, even goes on to say, “you’ll take my place at this hospital.” What about Faizan? I ask, but he didn’t reply.
- Mina tells Saniya that Salman didn’t breakup with Faryal because of Dr Shahnawaz’s pressure. He broke up because he knew Faryal lied about the suicide. So, he knows she’s manipulative. That was a shock as well as a relief. What Faryal did in the previous episode (guilt-tripping Salman into taking her back) made my blood boil. It’s good to know that he knows.
- Saniya suggests that Salman and her should think about starting a family. Salman knows it comes from fear and not stability. He calls Madiha, who explains how it was her fault that the Faryal situation got out of hand. She seemed to say the right things almost as if she was coached. If she knew so much about Faryal, why the F did she involve Salman in the first place?
- Salman found out that Saniya was helping Faheem with the investigation and starts to throw tantrums like a 2-year-old.
- Faheem is ready to go to the channel, so Salman drives Saniya to meet Faheem. Pichhe nikaah ka waqt ho raha hai and people are looking for Saniya and Salman.
- Saniya tries to talk to Faheem, who is quite reasonable, but Salman loses his patience.
- Salman starts beating up Faheem. At this point, I felt like Salman is like just a sadak-chaap lukkha. If people from elite, educated families resort to such tactics, what do we expect from uneducated people? I know, he did the same to Asad but at that point, I kinda liked it. In retrospect, that was problematic, too.
- Engraged, Faheem challenges Salman: Aisa hai toh apne abba se puchh ki teri ammi ka cancer kyun chhupa rahe hain. Second of all, Farheen’s cancer seemed irrelavant to Faheem’s investigation. First of all, what a crass way to reveal that to Salman.
Saniya: Please don’t do anything. Meri bahen ki shaadi hai aaj.
Faheem: Aap logon ko darr tabhi lagta hai jab aag aapke apne ghar waloN tak pahunchti hai.
I don’t know what information Faheem has, or what Farheen’s cancer has to do with this investigation, but bro is too angry. I’d like to see that his anger is based on some shocking facts.
The list above doesn’t even cover everything that happened. Like I said before, too much happened and it irked me, a LOT.
Okay, how’s everyone enjoying their weekend so far?
