Drama Review | Ishq-e-Laa | Hum TV | Episode 27

A little recap from episode 26

Azka offers her kidney to Ambreen, but Azlan refuses.

Ishq-e-Laa episode 27 written update and review

Ambreen isn’t well so Azka and Azlan rush her to the hospital. Azka is contemplative about signing the donor form. She recalls Professor Rehman’s words as she walks to the operation theatre. Beautifully shot scene, I loved it.

The kidney transplant is successful but the body is rejecting the organ. Would Azka’s sacrifices go waste?

Azlan’s constant fight with Dr Omer was painful to watch but I understand his anger. When you feel like you might your mother, you are helpless and angry and want to do everything in your power to fix things. And it hurts to know that all the money can’t buy health.

I digress, but I would continue to digress more. I love the contract marriage trope but not when it’s bound with a time period. I mean, there should be some conditions but not time limit. And I hate it when desi dramas do that. That is haram in islam. What and why and how, this is a long discussion and but “itne time ke baad talaq” wala nikaah is haram, forbidden, unlawful. I have a story in draft around this, but I never get the time to finish it. Argh!

So, where was the story? Right, Khadija is too worried about Azka so Kanwal goes to meet Azka and learns about the whole kidney donation thing. Aur phir uss ne ko jhapa hai Azlan ko, soch hai aapki. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I think the drama is back on track now. In the middle there were some slow episodes but now things are fine.

Azka, I mean Yumna Zaidi is her vulnerable best. I stared att her face like a kid watches her favourite toy. Her prayers on tje hospital bed was so moving. It was brilliant writing and brilliant direction, but hey, Yumna gets all the credit. She deserves it. And, she’s a little bit cocky and pompous when she talks to Azlan after Ambreen shows improvement. Yumna, you’re perfection.
