Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka. It’s based on Fakhra Jabeen’s short story Ujalon Ki Basti. You can read the story here, and my review is here. The drama is quite different from the story itself, so don’t be disheartened by my review even if it has some spoilers.
Qissa Meherbano Ka is a new Hum TV series that started airing on 28th August, 2021.
The first episode had me sufficiently intrigued, and I’ve decided to give this drama a go. Here’s me with my review-slash-rant about the second episode.
Qissa Meherbano Ka Episode 2 Written Review
Noor promises Mehran to help him to convince Mehrbano for him. I don’t understand. Mehrbano is nikaah shuda. It’s not like she’s just engaged and the same can be called off.
We see a flashback to past. To save Atif and Afiya’s relationship, professor decides to marry off Mehrbano with Murad, Afiya’s sister. Atif still divorces Afiya. And ten years later, Mehrbano is hanging in the air.
Ahsan Khan makes his entry. Whether he has a grey character or not, we will know more in the next episode.
I’m not alone in feeling that Noor is a very annoying girl – too loud, too brat, too chirpy. She reminds me of Geet from Jab We Met.
Mawra has reformed as an actor over the years. The last time I saw her in Sabaat, I fell in love with her poise and calm. It feels like she has turned into Anaya Aziz for real. In this drama also, she’s in complete control of her emotions and expressions.
Mohammad Ahmed acts so well as an old father with broken spirits.
Oh, it’s the second time in a row that Mawra is playing Mohammad Ahmed’s daughter.
Noor is one terrible character but I know there are such people in real life. She doesn’t even mind talking about her grandfather’s death.
I don’t like that the scenes repeat very often in this drama. We see the scene, the next moment, we see the scene in a flashback in sepia colour.
