Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka. It’s based on Fakhra Jabeen’s short story Ujalon Ki Basti. You can read the story here, and my review is here. The drama is quite different from the story itself, so don’t be disheartened by my review even if it has some spoilers.

A little recap of episode 19

Fari is back in the house. Noor finds Mehrbano’s jewellery which Mehrbano gives to Ayaz.

Qissa Meherbano Ka Episode 20 Written Review

 

Okay, so the scene that was the heart of Ujalon Ki Basti Mein happens in this episode. Acche Miyan talks rubbish to Noor, Ayaz sees this and loses his calm. Murad slaps Ayaz, Mehrbano slaps Noor and kicks them out of the house. Ayaz has full trust in her aunt, but Noor doesn’t. Then we see a flashback that clears everything. Even though the execution is spot on, it doesn’t have the wow factor that was there in the story. Well done, nonetheless.

 

Ayaz proposes to Noor, and I simply simply loved their little conversation. Mehran arranges for instant nikaah. Nikaah is such convenience for us all, don’t you think? No other culture can have such instant wedding. I can’t wait to see Ayaz and Noor together. They make for a nice couple.

But that is where the good part ends. Mehrbano talks to Mehran about her plan, a plan that Murad overhears. Not very smart, aunt Mehrbano.

 

Murad is now contemplating a murder. Uff… I didn’t think it would come to this. I hope this drama wraps up in next two episodes.
